http://www.planetebook.com/ebooks/the-idiot.pdf has anyone read this book by Fyodor Dostoyevsky before. i havent yet but i heard of it recently and i saw some qoutes from famous people about the author which made it an imperative 4 me to read. "The real nineteenth-century prophet was Dostoevsky, not Karl Marx.”-Albert Camus “Dostoevsky gives me more than any scientist, more than Gauss!”-Albert Einstein “The only psychologist from whom I have anything to learn.”-Friedrich Nietzsche “The novels of Dostoevsky are seething whirlpools, gyrating sandstorms, waterspouts which hiss and boil and suck us in. They are composed purely and wholly of the stuff of the soul. Against our wills we are drawn in, whirled round, blinded, suffocated, and at the same time filled with a giddy rapture. Out of Shakespeare there is no more exciting reading.”-Virginia Woolf
well anyway the plot of story is very simple. its about a prince called Lev Nikolayevich Myshkin who goes back to Russia. hes called an idiot by many people but really he isnt. hes a representation of Jesus in the modern world. hes intelligent but loving and naive and always seeing the best in people. eventually his loving kid innocent childlike behaviour isnt suited to the real world which is ruled by wealth fraud and selfishness. eventually his actions lead to every1s doom and suffering.
