Kool G Rap & DJ Polo- Road to the Riches
-
This is probably my favorite Kool G Rap album, but I haven't heard the other DJ Polo & G Rap albums. Plus Marley Marl's production is on point.
Top 5: Road To The Riches, Men At Work, Trilogy Of Terror, Poison, Butcher Shop
Grade: (4.5/5) A

As much as i love 4,5,6, all his albums with DJ Polo shit over that.
And this album is amazing. Great production, by one of the greatest producers ever, and fantastic rapping by G Rap. This is one of my favouites from The Juice Crew, along with Long Live The Kane.

4,5,6 is my fav g rap album and one of my fav albums period.

I agree. The other albums he did with DJ Polo are ok but 4,5,6 is his best. I like Live and Let Die album with DJ Polo that has my jams Ill Street Blues and 2 To The Head with Scarface, Bushwick Bill and Ice Cube.

Just listened to it today after about 5-6 years. I was around 9 years old when this came out and it STILL holds up.
"Road To Riches" "It's a Demo" "Men at Work", damn EVERY TRACK. Nothing weak on here.
G Rap is easily a top 5 for me.

I saw Road To The Riches video a few days ago for the first time and I don't like the message he says for how black men are supposed to get money. He never mentions anything about black men should get jobs. He talks about selling drugs to get money but he talks to a little boy at the beginning who told Kool G Rap that he wants to be a gangsta when he gets older LOL. Kool G Rap told him that's not the way to get money because he can go to prison or die young but he never said nothing to the boy that he should get a job when he gets older LOL.
