Sheep's review of holocaust/bomshot-warghost
What happens when you get two of the most metaphorical rappers in the game on top of that production by some the tightest in the underground hip hop. You get Bomshot & Holocaust (Wu-Tang Killa Bee) as the Warghosts and their self title debut with basically no features, and all pure rhyming. With tracks like “Power Eye Jedi” (Jedi Mind Tricks diss track) that display lyrical dexterity beyond the average rapper can even attempt to try. It's something on poetic level where you Holocaust aka Warcloud drop some interwoven metaphors that can boggle the mind at times and then comes in Bomshot matching wits with pure feeling, flow and strong cander that gels well with Holocaust's oft kilter lyrics that make you take out a dictionary.
From the opening song “Sound of Mystery” to “Chase the Dragon” and so on, but the magic of this album isn't the songs but the synchronicity these two artist have and don't waver from the ground their planted themselves in. The album “Warghosts” is almost an underground rap fan's wet dream in that the darkness is matched by content matched with production by Amos the Ancient Prophet, Iron Monk and
Imperial Skillz Empera just to name a few of the heads lending their beats to this awesome album.
Overall, the album is strong in lyrics and production the album it self is a solid 3 of 5 stars, due to what the album can do and be for a fan of this music. I think the lack of content and some differing in tracks may hinder it's appeal in the long run but most wu fans and pure underground rap fans will enjoy this for what it's worth.
3 out of 5 stars
AHHHH, MY EARS!!! Damn you, Bumshit!
Bomshot is the definition of a sucker MC, dude can't flow to save his life.
If this were a Holocaust album with these same beats I might dig it.
But Bomshot makes this shit sound like audio torture.
