while most of the little known female vocalists Prince worked with over the last ten years (cf the other threads I created in this section today) laid down soul tracks and had a booming voice, Bria Valente went more into a pop direction. tbh her voice probably doesn't have the range for soul songs
nevertheless I'd like to introduce you to her body of work by posting some vids
all of these tracks are from her only album 'Elixer', which was included in Prince's 3 disc set 'Lotus Flow3r'
with Bria's album the idea was to create a quiet storm type album, in the tradition of say Sade. you be the judge. I think it worked well on some tracks, others are a bit too bland for my taste
