lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
In the NL, the main three are Chris Carpenter, Dontrelle Willis, and Roger Clemens. most are saying Carpenter, and i believe that he'll probably win, as he has had a spectacular season. Dontrelle's year also warrants praise...but i'd have to give it to Clemens. i mean damn...look at the ERA! its like 1.5! for me, ERA is the best indicator of a pitcher, not wins...with wins, not only ERA is factored in, but run support is to, the latter being something the pitcher has nothing to do with (though that is arguable with the superbly hitting Dontrelle). so i know Carpenter has 20 wins, but if Roger was on St. Louis, he would too. i want someone else to win a Cy for a change, but regrettably i hav to give it to Clemens again.
the AL...it basically comes down to Mark Buerhle and Johan Santana. Santana takes this one..his second half has been ridiculous. Buerhle has emerged this season, though...Bartolo Colon has lots of wins, but Santana's pitching supercedes that of Colon.
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
colon and willis, colon is having a great season and i refuse to give the cy young to CHRIS CARPENTER
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
i thought that this might engender more interest...
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
fuck chris carpenter
he just does not invoke any excitement
the cardinals got to be the lamest good team ever
i think you still gotta give it to clemens - he been the victory of bad run support
and an era under 2 is straight sick
i hate clemens
for closers it goes to chad cordero off the nationals
in the AL it is going to bob wickman
he is lights out for the indians and they might make it into the playoffs
other than that - yeah colon and jon garland and mark buehrle are good candidates
but wickman has been too solid
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
wickman for the Cy? i dont know...
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
im tellin you man
dudes been lights out
plus its a real young team - an anchor like that means a lot
he wont win it
but i think he should
nobody really stands out in the AL
jake westbrook off cleveland is leading in ERA and his ERA is over 3.00
maybe they should give it to that middle reliever off minnesota - whats his name? jesse crain or something?
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
middle relivers are definitely uncharted territory for the Cy Young, lol! um, i know theres a guy named jc romero who serves a similar purpose on there...but i do agree that there arent any standouts in the AL like there are in the NL. jake westbrook? damn i've never even heard of him...how about kevin millwood? if he isnt right beneath 3, then he's right over it, in terms of ERA...but it seems like Colon is going to get it. Santana has had an explosive second half though.
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
colon is gonna get it and deserves it this year in the al. Bob wickman? the middle reliever for the twins? Come on man, those were jokes right?
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
yeah colon is gonna get it
unless anaheim dont make the playoffs
i am serious about wickman
the middle reliever was a joke
cleveland is #2 in the AL - and they are closing the gap between the chisox
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
Yo for real I see Mariano Rivera Taking It Home He Defiently Been The Best Pitcher In The League Forever And He's Having A Nasty Year Regardless If He's A Closer. But With That Said I'm Sure Colon Will Get It And I'm Rooting For The D-Trian In The N.L.
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
d-train stepped it up big time
dont you find it painful to capitalize every word like that?
Re: lets talk AL & NL Cy Youngs
Hahaha I Dont Know I Just Capitilize Without Thinking About It Truthfully I Don't Know Why I Do It. But Yeah He Did Whoop The Mets And Pedro The Other Day.
