Cage - I Never Knew You EP (review)
I'll do a lil review here for this..
First off, Cage isn't for everybody, when he first came out with Smut Peddlers, Movies For The Blind and his earlier work, yeah, his style was generic and made for the average rap fan that wanted to hear crazy shit. But people change, and Cage has been developing into a very quality artist. His sound is changing for the better, his lyrical content is inspired.
Cage - I Never Knew You EP
1) I Never Knew You [5/5] ..First single off his new projects, includes a video that just recently dropped too. Now that's how a single is made. Beat is raw, lyrics are strange in a passionate way, the chorus is dope. All around GREAT track.
2) Follow The Bleeder [5/5] ..WOW.. this beat is fucking COLD, electric guitar loop just bangs. Cage also just spills all over this shit, incredible shit.
3) Tongue In A Sharks Mouth [5/5] ..Another cold ass beat, lyrics are what actually make this song so dope tho, shit like;
"I figured the passed, and the future isn't how I imagined it/
but the passed is exactly right where I un-ravelled it../
The useless of failed attempts, gained another one when I used the noose/
It's not until you fall apart you see the screws are loose,/
and the screwdrivers in the hands of the girl you live with../ "
Loved that shit..
4) Hell Oh [5/5] ..Best Song On The Album imo.. absolutely top notch material.
5) It's The 80's Again [4/5] ..Awseome song, classic Cage flow. speeds shit up and lays down some ill shit, Heavyyyyyy beat, felt this one forsure, I knocked off a point b'cus I'm not really feeling the chorus though.
conclusion: Almost flawless EP imo, it was intended as a free download and DEFINETELY worth checking. If this was any longer it would've been deadly. Great material, heavy beats, passionate lyrics.
