That's a good question. Last Ghostface show I Saw was two years ago and No Trife just Rae.
could be the usual situation with these dudes. want a general to hold their hand until the end and when things don't go big overnight, they give up quick and move on, expect a diss track soon

since everyone is speculating i will throw in my two cents. i think that Trife at some point had a contract with GFK in probably many aspects ie; touring, hype man, rhyming (Theodore Unit ) and yes even ghostwriting for him. same with Superb and Wiggs to some extent probably had contracts too. you all know that it has been rumored in the past that these guys all ghostwrote for GFK. i think once Trife contract ended he than was able to put his solo album out. there are some old threads on this subject.

I don't think Trife and Ghost had a falling out at all. From what I've seen on his IG Trife has been working a regular job and has recently become a father again. As well as working on his new solo album and I'm pretty sure he announced that a new Theodore Unit album is also in the works too. So, I can only assume that he and Ghost are still cool.
Trife was heavily involved in Ghost's writing (and yes, that includes full on ghostwriting - pun intended) around the time of Theodore's 718 and on to Fishscale - you can hear it in Ghost's consistent, rhythmic flow from all his verses and features (circa 2004-2007).
More recent projects have been ghostwritten by Shawn Wigs. Sloppier flow. More basic, storytelling rhymes. 36 Seasons has Wigs all over it (his rhymes, backing vocals and even a feature where he raps "n***a"...
Wigs replaced Trife.
This is hysterical...I actually have thought to myself on multiple tracks, why tf does ghost sound like wigs right now? Now I know why...he sometimes changes the pitch of his voice too and it sounds more like wigs. I know most rappers use ghost writers, but I'm pretty disappointed this seems to be such a frequent thing with ghost.Quote:

You'd be surprised how many rappers start off writing their rhymes and once they've been in the game for a few years, they got other niggas writing for them. Maybe not whole verses, but a bar here and there, maybe half a verse and then they give it their own twist. I know this because I'm a writer for Atlantic's division called APG, and i'm hearing a lot of shit and super surprised when I hear such and such who I'd never imagine have someone write for them.Quote:

More on topic: Trife (and TMF) are in the Straight Gutta vid from The Meth Lab. Okay, it's 2015, but not that old. Meth (and I think others in the vid) are even rockin TMF merch.

Maybe Ghost should fire Sean Wigs and employ Ginger Pubes to write. Ginger Pubes has after all made a whole career from biting the cadence; delivery; tone; and Lyrics of Ghostface.
The rusty pubed one will have Ghostface sound like himself in no time.
The only problem with that is that Tone may be tempted to not bother even recording as well as writing; and be the first emcee to have a ghost writer/rapper.
He will end up being the Milli Vanilli of Hip-Hop.

I wouldn't be upset if I never heard another verse from Trife, Memphis Bleek, Spliff Star, Wigs, Gilla House, Nas' brother etc. The list is really endless of bums that get put on because they're friends with a rapper. I mean some of them are okay, but who cares.
The ghostwriting thing is shameful if its true, To me it just seems lazy, pure and simple. Given the calibre of Ghosts 90s work I think hes capable of writing to the standard of somebody like Wigs.
I would definitely be upset if I could never hear from Trife again. He is the only dope person mentioned on that list. Difference between Trife and those other people you mentioned is that Trife has actual rap skills. If Trife could hook up with somebody that is popping right now and give him some shine, he could definitely accumulate a fan base outside of hard core Wu nerds.
