Will Rae Do The Numbers?
will rae do the numbers with the help of busta rhymes&dr.dre?will he go platinum/gold or maybe even multi-platinum?
....or will he flop again selling like 250G tops?
i have this feeling cuban linx 2 will go ATLEAST gold i dont believe platinum but it damn sure would be nice for wu 2 go platinum for the first time in 5 years(wasnt the w the latest over million selling wu album?)if someone can make u sell good its dr.dre and with rae appearing lil jon album hes sure to get even more attenntion
will rae flop again or will he rise wu-tang from the ashes?
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Yeah i think with the right promotion he could easily go gold, and with a nice first single maybe even platinum.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Unfotunately, it will move about 180,000 units.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
i hope to fuck he doesnt try for platinum numbers anyway, nothing good can come out of it if he trys for commercial success
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
nah i think hes gonna keep it real wit this album...he must realase that wannabe top10 shit dont work just look at ice cream pt2 and the hood...he might do the numbers by keeping it real gangsta-rap is hot now and im not just talking about 50 cent

pretty much
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Well, with a bigbudget video of a Dre produced track, he'll certainly have to potential to move an impressive ammount of copies. Especially if some Dre's protégés like Eminem make a cameo appearence.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
i think it'll sell as much as pretty toney
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
^^didnt pretty toney go gold??
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
raekwon's album won't sell unless ghotface is on every track... the man's flow has been seriously weak on everything he has been on in the last few years

nah i disagree! rae ill an always has been
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
yeah i kinda agree i mean i love raes voice but his flow really aint got this charisma that ghost has been thanked of...u know a regular fan might get "bored" with the flow....but i stick 2 my opinion and that is rae aint gonna fail
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
This could go both ways :
-Memphis Bleek
-Common
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
i hope rae gets plat soo much but i cant see it happening
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
It would be pretty dope if Rae gets commercial as fuck just like 50 cent or something. Why? Cause loads of female groupies is gonna jump on this board! ;-)
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
I could care less what his numbers are as long as its a dope album.

xcept for his verse on the last T-Touch album....piecemaker 2...sheez!
but I dont think dre & rae have the best chemistry....i mean he's (dre) so not wu??

Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
This album is starting to really gain a buzz. People are hearing that Rza, Dre, and Busta are workin on this, and that grabs attention right there. Every real Hip-Hop fan knows Only Built For Cuban Linx is a classic. So now a part II? Being the sequel to a certified classic gains attention too. So people are really talkin about this shit right now. Only thing left now is for Rae to make sure he comes correct. And I think he can and will with this one.
O-N-E

If you look at a dude like Jada, he wasn't really WELL-KNOWN until he had a track like "Time's Up." Then he capitalized off of that with "Why" and went platinum. Nowadays, the first single is like the leadoff batter in baseball, with the third or fourth singles ("Champ is Here" was Jada's second single) usually hitting home runs, nahmean?
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
jada was well known way before Time's Up and Why
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
what !!??
raekwons flow has not changed.. he is still ill with the flow!!! his beat choices have suffered...
but this album looks promising (rza, heatmakerz , dre..etc)
i hope the album is a tru sequel..with similar type of funny skits and stuff too
he atleast ha to have a shark niggas pt 2

i see what ur sayin but that wasnt the case with jada
jada was indeed well known since 96

Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?

no doubt bout that
i predict he'll sell 600,000
and no....Pretty Toney did NOT go Gold....i think he sold around 250,000

I hope not; i didnt feal that one. Plus its hard as shit for anyone in the Wu to sell a shit load of albums cause most people just burn the shit. I have burned wu cds but only after i bought the original and scratched it to death.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Hell def. hit the 500,000 unit mark. But who knows? I think its gettin alot of notice
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Unfortanetly today's rap is a big buisness and without big promotion and big hit singles, it's hard to go platinum. I'm sure Raekwon will do better number than with his previous releases. You got Busta Rhymes being the executive producer and this album is already being patiently awaited! I'm thinking he'll go gold.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Digi Stance is a hater straight up
I think this will be the best album of 05' and I'm calling at least gold, at least, it has the potential to go platinum with aftermath's promotional backing, dre production, heatmakerz production, rza production...It's gonna be sick doggie, and Rae can't spit anymore? Listen to Baggage Handlers ITS CUBAN LINX TWO MOTHERFUCKERS
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
yea.. ive been lurking on some other forums and it definately has a little buzz so far
when is it supposed to be released?
is it finished?
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
^^i heard somewhere august....if its true i dunno
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Not to mention that if 'Rappers Delight' hits anywhere around OB4CL2; then Rae and Ghost will get double the publicity. The cd has a lot more buzz than i thought it would, you know it aint finished all the way, but a bet a mix tape is lurking
Michael Jackson not guilty? what the fuck? Are they kidding?
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
wow some of you guys are just daydreaming,
ghostface put out a radio friendly album on def jam and his shit flopped, method man had a commercial orgy album and he BARELY reached gold. raekwon has soiled himself with two mediocre albums after cuban linx so the label isnt gonna have faith in his project to promote it well. how in the WORLD is this album gonna go gold?
it will do 350K tops...and thats only if its on some no said date shit.
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
^^fuck that depressed shit

Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
Ya but def jam is not on top of the rap game, and the single with missy was garbage
Aftermath is doin it right now, they using the right beats for the emcee (Heatmakerz, RZA) it has more buzz and hype then pretty toney
Aftermath did not sign Rae to not promote his album but spend all that loot on producers and shit, it will be pushed, and it will go at least gold, keep hating if you want but mark my words and bow down to the prophet when I'm right
Peace
-
Re: Will Rae Do The Numbers?
lol here we go again,
how many times do we have to go through this until you all get it?
oh well i hope that the album is a smash hit with me reguardless of sales. you think every artist that gets signed to a major gets top notch promotion? oh well...
peace

I'm talkin' commercially, homey...also, the Hip-Hop climate has changed, quality music doesn't go platinum anymore, cuz if the shit 50's doing now was what he was doing in the early '90s, KRS woulda tossed his ass off stage WITH Prince Be...
