Didn't RZA take the bass for Can it be all so simple from this:

You would think he did, but I just remade the drums with the other sample and it's definitely the Klaatu sample sampled in mono.
I would swear someone here had the sample of Wicked Ways by Sunz Of Man.. Syl Johnson or OV Wright? Anyone
Great job! I was hesitant at first, but then I loaded it into my sampler in mono (left channel), looped it, and played the Can it be instrumental in the background to find the right pitch, and there you go. Once the right pitch was found, the rest was confirmed by the key of the baseline, which matches too.
It's truly amazing how many layers there are to this beat. Definitely one of Rza's most sophisticated compositions.
Cilva, how did you find it? The sampled song is really whack.
This may not be the thread for this question so my apologies.. Let's say a guy wants to cut samples/breakbeats into a hardware sampler as a hobby. Is there a software/hardware combo you can recommend? I'm talking entry level here. ;) I haven't cut beats/waveforms since Cool Edit '96
Is it possible to get a sampler for under $300 US?
cool edit is still definitely usable as stand alone software
but if you want software/ hardware for the cheapest, I might recommend an AKAI MPD or MPK midi controller (there's different versions of both, depending how much you wanna spend and your needs) and you can probably get FL Studio for free
I highly recommend the Native Instruments Maschine that comes with it's own software, but you'll pay slightly more
$300 is an extremely low budget for what you wanna do though
Bought this guy in March and still haven't really used it.. Tried it with Garage band but there is no sampler plugin native to garage band anymore.

as far as DAWs I've only personally worked with FL Studio and Maschine, I'd probably recommend finding an FL Studio torrent, that midi keyboard should be compatible
Why isn't this topic sticky?
finally...
OV Wright - When you took your love from me
1.05
Sunz Of Man, Wicked Wayz
Are you sure Cilva?
you're not? you think it's not the OV Wright version?
It doesn't sound like it to me.. don't know why but I can't hear it. Could you flip it on MPC and upload it?
It's definitely it. I tried it. Will try to upload it. 4th definitely a master with his. It never would've occurred to me to flip it that way.
That OV Wright song was sampled a few times before for Wu songs, so that to me makes it more likely to be correct.
^ Raekwon!
Dope find
^ What track it was sampled in?
^ Nazareth
Does anybody know what Jimi Hendrix song was sampled on What You In Fo'?
rainy dayz remix

anyone who knows about that raw bassline on "could it be all so simple"?
I personally believe it samples "I Got The..." by Labi Siffre but it's been disputed
