Punk turned heel? I wasn't really expecting that. Why not turn Cena heel finally, when Punk is more popular with the overall fans anyway

Cena will never turn heel.....he's the Hulk Hogan of the new era with the whole, "eat your vitamins, drink your milk, and say your prayers" routine.
He's the image of good, and until he finally loses all credibility as a relevant star who can attract and draw, like what happened to Hogan when he turned all nWo, and Bret hart all anti-American, he'll remain the "hero".
Like I said I don't watch wrestling anymore, but I still watch the headlines as to what happens on the WWE website.
CM Punk turning heel is better for him; it suits his character more, and I think he draws more attention that way.

yeah but Cena isn't over as much as CM Punk. He will get applause from women and kids, but that's abut it. So at a lot of the shows, he tends to get half boos from the crowd or more.
^ Oh no doubt, 4sure about that.
But that's just it, CM Punk appeals to the same fans who would cheer for the Rock, Taker, or Stone Cold, or DX.
Cena appeals to the audiences of women and children the same way Rey Mysterio would, or how Hogan USED to back in the "Real American" days....
The fanbase is diverse in the wrestling world appealing to different demographs to get people interested.
Me personally? With the active roster right now, I'd only care to see Undertaker in a match, even Brock Lesnar depending on who it would be against; him and Big Show put on some sick matches back in the day. Orton and HHH are okay I guess too, but mind you witht he exception of Orton and CM Punk, the rest I mentioned are on a part-time basis now.
TNA ont he other hand have a few guys I'd tune in to watch, primarily RVD, and Kurt Angle for obvious reasons.
Wrestlings credibility has dropped due to the UFC, and by trying to get these new-wave backstreet boy-esque wrestlers who tan too much, and rock a speedo with absolutely no depth to their character is killoing them. WWE has destroyed the gimmicks that would make their industry interesting, they either go way overboard with a gimmick like Burchill doing the pirate gig, or they don't utilize it properly like the Hurricane persona (which I liked personally).
The creative team needs to step up, and stop appealing to the wrong audience, get on the ball mo'fucka, but then again what do I know? I'm not apart of a billion dollar industry who's apart of a creative team, I'm just a semi-former fan with an opinion.
