liverpool on a nice little goal scoring run lately. torres = buy of the season.
Yeah^
Torres is lethal...A big asset we have been missing for a long time.
Well...since Owen really.
Barnsley are almost there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahah
They done it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1st Liverpool....And now Chelsea are gone !!!!!!!!!
SICKNESS
ha barnsely for the cup!!
watch them get rewarded with two great performaces in a row by drawing Man U.
man u is out of the cup
wtf is happenin
i think arsenal will run away with the fa cup if they havnt yet been eliminated
fabregas is slept on, hes done alot for arsenal
i never thought arsenal wouldve been this lethal after henry left
arsenal already got demolished 4-0 by man u last round.
no big 4 teams left.
i think thats good. shit gets stale when its always the big guns.
i think none of the big 4 really care about the FA cup, they all gunning for the league and champs league trophies. the FA cup is just a waste of time for them.
idk, a cup like the coppa italia doesnt mean much to the italian teams. the FA cup is different in my understanding. but with all 4 english clubs still in the champs league, and 3 out of the 4 with a possibility of winning the league the FA cup may be on the back burner this year. but in the end a trophy is a trophy. and even the carling cup is better than nothing ya know what im saying.
the cup doesn't mean much to french team as well
D-Day for Inter. Ah, fuck it.
inter got fuked 4 english teams in the champs league.
and then they say the premiership sucks and blahblah blahhhh
hows it a weak league. and there are tons of world class players in the premiership. it is a 4 team league, i dnt believe any other team in the EPL would do well in europe. but its 4 damn good teams. watch none of the english teams will draw each other. im really sik and tired of chelsea and liverpool drawing each other everytime.
Liverpool is an inconsistent team, they suck. they're just spoilers.
fuck inter fucc all fuck the moist cunts.. play footbal , fuck!
the EPL have sacrificed their own players in the search of continental glory. english teams so depserately want to be crowned kings of europe and are doing their part in the downfall of english football. there's no point even debating which is the best league because it's an endless argument that goes around in circles, better to just enjoy the top quality leagues for what they are. the year 3 of 4 spanish teams made the semi finals of the champions league did that make la liga better than anybody? no
EPL is NOT a 4 league team. it's a 3 league team. anyone who thinks liverpool are serious title contenders during any year is a fucking idiot kidding themselves
dry your eyes princess
[QUOTE=JerseyIronmanwhat are you talkinga bout Liverpool won the Champions league 2 years ago[/QUOTE]
so what, everyone knows that was mad luck.
the only luck in football is if you shoot the ball from the half way line, the balls going straight then the wind moves it away from the goalkeeper. liverpool won the champs league by showing more heart.
i kno liverpool are totally crap in the EPL but they are the best english team in europe. they always perform. unknown reasons for this.
^ you right, but its really time for them to put in more effort in the EPL, when was the last time they won the EPL?
ya i dont get that Liverpool always does crap in the league, its like they are european specialists.
Arsenal seems to have the opposite problem but not to the same degree.
not just liverpool winning the UCL but anyone who wins wins it on luck. it's not a week in week out competition, it's spread out through the course of the season, you find out in december you'll play a team in february - that's a massive fucking gap between matches. you can end up losing half your squad to injury. stuttgart had a massive plight of injuries and now they're all fit they're starting to hit straps in die bundesliga. they came dead last in their group but if they had their full squad anything could of happened. milan a few years ago tore shit up in europe and come february choked like no other, they got hit with a few injuries and their form dipped. like frank rijkaard said UCL is all about getting as far as you can and any team that prioritises winning the champions league is stupid - yeah it's a fucking great honour to win but winning your domestic league is a truer indiciation of how good you are ... liverpool win europe and weren't even within a country mile of chel$ki
i dnt remember the last time liverpool actually proper challenged for the title. truly sucks.
mancini is apparently staying at inter. but i have still got a feeling that mourihno might get the inter job. it jus seems like a good fit. dnt kno why.
Arsenal will face Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after they were paired together in Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
Arsene Wenger's side will play the first leg at home on 1/2 April, with the return leg at Anfield on 8/9 April.
Manchester United, who beat Lyon to reach the last eight, were drawn against Real Madrid's conquerors Roma.
Chelsea, the fourth English club in the draw, meet Fenerbahce, with Schalke 04 and Barcelona the other fixture drawn.
The winners of the Arsenal-Liverpool fixture will then face Chelsea or Fenerbahce in the semi-finals, with Manchester United or Roma drawn against Barcelona or Schalke 04 in the last four, with the legs taking place on the 22/23 April and 29/30 April.
606: DEBATE
Your thoughts on the draw
It means if Chelsea overcome Fenerbahce in the quarter-final, England will be guaranteed a presence in the final in Moscow on 21 May.
Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry could barely hide his disappointment after the draw, saying: "I think we'd hoped to avoid an English team. But, statistically, an all-English tie was bound to happen and it's happened to us. I guess at least we've avoided a trip to Turkey.
"We're also playing Arsenal in the league in between the quater-final legs so that will be interesting. I don't think there will be any surprises for either side in those games.
"We'll take each match as it comes but, of course, we've noticed we might also face another English side (Chelsea) in the last four as well."
It should make for compelling viewing and, after the way we played against AC Milan, we must have a lot of belief that we can go all the way
Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman
Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman added: "I think we'd have preferred European competition. Liverpool are a great team and are fantastic in this competition and, with three games against them in a week, I'm sure the tactics in each tie will be under close scutiny."
"It should make for compelling viewing and, after the way we played against AC Milan, we must have a lot of belief that we can go all the way."
Manchester United club secretary Ken Ramsden, meanwhile, said: "It's a good draw for us, I think.
"As a fan I'm happy we're playing continental opposition and we have a good record against them too. I'm sure the manager will also be happy that we're playing at home in the second leg so we're content with that."
Chief executive Peter Kenyon was equally happy to have avoided an English side in the draw, adding: "I'm delighted. There are no easy draws at this stage, but we wanted to avoid an English side and we've done that.
"Despite a couple of disappointing results of late, we've complete confidence in the team and coaching staff to ensure we have a good end to the season."
Looks like England have a good chance of three semi finalists, with Barcelona taking the fourth spot.
i don't know, i have a feeling about roma against utd. i fuckin hope so anyway. the gunners to be crowned champs. theres also a good chance that we could get a replay of the 2006 final - arsenal against barcalona.
2005 - liverpool vs milan
2006 - arsenal vs barcalona
2007 - liverpool vs milan
2008 - arsenal vs barcalona??????????
I reckon Man Utd are gonna win it.
Kinda hope they do as Scholes missed out on the final last time.
im supporting Roma by default now.
I'm going to root Arsenal.
Roma to win this bitch.
EPL is not the best league in the world. Besides arsenal(and thats only because they have no englishmen), they play shit football. Be honest. There is a reason why only 2 english teams have won it in the past 25 years, and barley any others made the finals.
Its a fun league to watch. It has good players. But THEY DO NOT PLAY GOOD FOOTBALL. Theres no way that can be debated. If you do, you do not know the game.
Haha, "barely any others made the finals" and I thought an English team had made it to the last three of them (with another almost guaranteed to make it this time).
And you clearly don't watch English football if you think Arsenal are the only ones that play attractively.
For starters Man U play beautiful football. Plenty of other clubs play attractively as well (e.g. Spurs).
I watch several epl games a week, every week. Along with the other 3 big leagues, plus some Argientien games too.
Ya Man U at times can play nice, a lot of it is because of only C.Ron or nani. I like berbatov and what spurs do at times too. But overall, for the majority its not attractive possesion football. Liverpool and Chelsea play shit football. Thats half of the big 4.
Liverpool won in 05. Man U in 99. Arsenal got to the finals in 06. Liverpool in 07. Other than those...not one english winner or finalist in the past 25ish years. That is saying something.
And what do you think of Argentine football? I've watched some on Channel 5 in the uk and saw some while in Buenos Aires and I have to say they were all shit.
Well I've seen plenty of stunning performances by Man U this season, and Nani isn't even a regular starter, so I dunno how you figure that. I guess their problem is all those boring hard grind players like Tevez, Giggs & Rooney.
Yep, it's saying that we're on the up. I think you're also forgetting that English teams were banned from Europe between 1985 and 1990.
Commiserations bro !!!!
I seriously think Liverpool or Man U are gonna win it...
Or obviously Barcalona...
Who says that ?
OK...Watch what happens in the Champions League...
And did we not win the Champions League and then reach the final ?
Inconsistent ?????
Good luck with that...
From a football purists point of view, one that likes nice free flowing attacking attractive football, the argentine league is definatly better. But the BPL also benifiets from having a lot better players (because of all the $$ in the league) than the clasura. Not to mentions the Argies good players get pipped quite younge. Like i said, the BPL is plenty entertaining. Even two lower level teams can make for a fun game to watch. But in terms of what really makes football nice, it just doesnt do it all the time.
Rooney, Giggz, Tevez are all great players. But like you said, they are grind it out players. Even C.Ron when he played againt Milan last year, or against Italy this year for Porto didnt do A THING. Because they dont play the game how its played in England. He has emence skill and speed. The english game suits him because theres so much space it allows him to fly at, than by, defenders. When the game gets compact and he has to combine and move the balls and make good passes things get tougher for him.
Like someone else said argueing which league is better gets you no where. But the english do like to tout their league and their national team as the best around, when they never seem to win anything. (Or at least in proportion to the way the big up themselves).
the argentine league is great to watch. i try to watch as many games as i can. a lot of talented players on show their.
with the champs league draws, i do see roma doing something. i think they are playing effective football at the right time. they could beat man utd, if they get it tactically right on the night.
liverpool - arsenal is jus gonna be like a premiership game, the team that does well away and grabs the away goals will most likely go through.
chelsea have an easy tie against fenerbahce, chelsea will jus need to defend well in this game, fenerbahce have a lot going forward but even the weakest teams in the turkish league can easily penetrate their defense.
barcelone - schalke should be interesting schalke are good and can spring a surprise. it all depends on how well barca can play really. when there forwards get going no one can stop them.
