no, the issue in this thread is about islam and slavery, that stands alone and is also relative to other worldly events. whether you feel it's not as important as the atlantic slave trade doesn't mean others don't understand the significance of it. for me personally, they both are very significant, for you the atlantic slave trade has the more importance.

slaves in america were still connected to their roots also, not all of them but more than what you would think. especially when it came to women but thats another discussion.

the reason this discussion is taking place is because one individual started this thread about ISLAM AND SLAVERY, not the atlantic slave trade.

And when dealing with the atlantic slave trade why is it limited to africa and america? the trade included other countries and continents. South America and India are two places that rarely get discussed. Brazil has the largest african population outside of the continent of africa.

christianity gets tied in there too becasue it was a significant part of slavery.

the atlantic slave trade, everybody wasn't on some crusty ship travelling thousands of miles.....some slaves never reached a boat because they were taken over land.

btw, "muslims" still are trading slaves till this day.
