Watchmen Thread AKA Watchmen-- Who's Going To See It?

Watchmen is a great film. The book is even more entertaining. Jesus Christ took part in making this film.:)

totally disagree.

its like after september 11th here. america was attacked. not just republicans or democrats. you saw everyone waving our flag. its the same thing when the world was attacked, but magnified but a massive amount. you forget about the petty bullshit and realize theres something that really binds everyone on the planet together, the fact that we are humans and its useless to fight over any of that other shit, when that other shit wont matter if they dont unite against the common enemy.

i thought the politcal interweavings were great. the comedian being hired to assasinat jfk. the burning monk. nixon winning the war and being elected 5 times. the joke at the end about "who wants a cowboy in the white house anyway", a clear dig at george bush. plus the others. thats what made the film so much more rich than any and every other super hero film out there.

'i leave it in your hands'

the graphic novel makes it more clear that this is of course a false premise and a temporary peace but the movie implies it as well.

^^^^^^I'm here to agree with the last two comments.

It's funny for me to say this, but I like this movie more than the Dark Knight. At least everything is in it's place and logical in the end.

DK owns this flick.

Entirely agree.

Probably the main reason why I didn't like the film. In reality, the world would turn back to violence and terror after about 5 years. It doesn't sound as smart as the movie tried to make it be.

one. in the end its a movie.

two. you are talking about our reality, they live in a different place. you cant impose our reality on a fictional world that is massively different. if so the whole premise and plot of every super hero movie, in reality most movies even made, should not be liked because they wouldnt work in our world.

I think they are too much apart to compare...I love the phylosophy and how everything is explained in the end in Watchmen.....DK has tension through the whole movie, which is almost Nolan's trademark thing.....plus I liked the Watchmen end a little more.

I love both films tho, I hope the era of stupid movies by comic books are finally over.

stevenson was the best punisher, hands down. but the movie is wack as fuck.

^^^Ionno, Punisher Warzone wasn't a big project like TDK or Watchmen =)

punisher warzone could have been dope. i liked the darkness of it, and some of the action was pretty badass. but most of that movie was absolute hot garbage.

How is it implied specifically?

Saying "nothing ever ends" can mean anything.

And whitey, i disagree with you opinion in that regard, but i understand it.

And the political references were just corny to me.
