That game was great... Spain was outstanding. The better team won the game and they totally deserved it. I was rooting for them the whole way.
What a player Torres is, he just zoomed past his defender and shot the ball before Lehman could close down on it. He just willed that one into the net.
Germany looked pretty defeated during the second half. I was just waiting for them to make a offensive run but Spain just kept possession to strangle the clock till time was up.
I knew Spain would win, they deserved to win. Unfortunately I couldn't watch the match due to work but in the end they won and thats all that matters.
They done it with style though TAURO...
Easily the best team of the tournament.
and yet alot of people doubted spain, I think alot of people overlooked them while they were out praising russia and turkey...it seemed this was the tournament for the underdogs in any respect.
i think playing in england is rubbing off on torres negatively. he looked like shit in that whole tourny. only trying to use speed. his touch was way off.
big suprise italy the only team in the tourny not to concede a goal or loose to spain, let alone even let them have a decent chance, all without 2 world class players in canavarro and pirlo, and a good one in gattuso. so basically italy won the tourny.

Italy will always be there or there abouts. Italian players benefit from serie A being strong. you can produce as many highly talented youngsters but if you dnt develop them properly you wont get anything. Italians kno how to get the best from talent.
they didnt do well the tournament, but they ranked second in the world at the moment. they are a good team. i think they really missed the flair that Totti brings. They couldnt really find a replacement for him. it will probably take some time to find someone to fill his shoes.
one things for sure, they will always be a threat. Very consistent team. Apart from Germany there is no other European nation that shows the same consistency as Italy.
