Little Dragon are dope. Coincidentally I was about to post this track by Klymaxx. One of Little Dragons inspirations and also still related to Prince.
they are pretty dope,
but right now im failing n love with this israeli group, thinking of doing a thread...
really love these 2 tracks
I don't see any reasons either why it would be unusual for me to like a band like Warpaint. They have a really nice sound plus I prefer to listen to female vocals for some reason. Especially when high.
Yeah, i thought both their albums were great. Had sort of forgotten they existed.
So underrated.
i love this song so much.
^^ LOL
for you bro.

from his new album Freetown Sound. took a few listens but i dig i dig. this is the second track. the whole black activist vibe on the first track and throughout the album damn near turned me off but i stomached it
this shoulda been on it as it was released like five or six months before Freetown Sound but it made its way on the album in bits and pieces.
^will have to check that out, i liked his first album but wasn't a big fan of the last one.
here is my stance on Blood Oranges albums...
Coastal Grooves i loved on first listen. became a fan and sought out the rest of his discography... (didnt like it as much as Blood Orange nevertheless...)
Cupid Deluxe came along and the singles he dropped, Chamakay and You're Not Good Enough were fire!! as for the rest of the album it took me roughly five listens to start to appreciate it. and i ended up enjoying it. still enjoy it to this day but its different/more complex than Coastal Grooves. still some fire tracks on there like the duets with his girl and the skepta joint.
Freetown Sound. album cover was quintessential Blood Orange my favorite artwork by him yet. i was stuck in an array of sounds and i wasnt really feeling it until five listens in (again) and this track struck me... there aint no audio for it on youtube... what a shame here it is anyway for reference purposes
then i just started playing the album from track ten (i think) and slowly started inching my way back and now ive been bumping it a lot lately.
Top choice
I love me some Satori.
saw her in concert this week. she is part belgian, part american, residing in both my home town of Ghent and in New York (her father was american blues/rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Chris Whitley). her live backing band is all american. all of her songs have a heavier rock even bluesy sound live
she's wildly popular here but since I never ever listen to the radio I had no idea what she sounded like at all before the concert (it was a festival with Neil Finn of Crowded House and with Garbage performing as well, whom I am both familiar with)
I'm gonna take I wild guess here and say she is just another anonymous singer in NY
btw she was a walking disaster when it came to announcing her songs & interacting with the audience. really fucking annoyed me. but then in the end she made it all up to us and got off the stage and walked into the crowd while still singing into the microphone and hugging random fans while doing so. no small feat at a festival where I would estimate about 2,000 to 3,000 people (tbh I have no real clue but there were a lot of people there) were in attendance. you could see the security guys almost fainting lol
^^^^
she aint good looking...
haha
^^lol true
