Les Rita Mitsouko (female singer and male guitar player who later got married) recorded this track in 1984 for their first studio album, in honor of Marcia, a dancer and choreographer from Argentina who had been touring with them until she died of cancer in 1981. (The band had been touring the circuit extensively before they recorded their debut album).
Jean-Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler designed all the costumes.
Graffiti painters from the Figuration Libre mouvement and Xavier Veilhan (painter, photographer, sculptor. conceptual artist) were responsible for the set design.
This was a huge hit in Western Europe in 1985.
It's the band's signature song.
