This shit was wiggidy-wiggidy-wack.
Don't you listen to Little Wayne?
I understand versatility, what I don't understand is how you can possibly think having a deep message is going to ruin a club song.
No one at club is dancing to the lyrics, they're in it for the beat.
There is no excuse to not try with your lyrics.
Further more, ten good concept songs are something they don't have. Exxxes though, is NOT a good concept song.
They don't even have an album yet.
As a group, their material so far is unimpressive.
In regard to clubs, what is good is good, what isn't isn't.
I don't need to let anyone else judge, that shit sucks.
if you name me one club song that had a deep meaning and received significant air play on the radio and at the clubs i will hang myself in the basement.
the only thing that came CLOSE to that is TI - Live Your Life...but that wasent much of an actual "club" song even though it got received as one.
but judging by your taste in music...you probably think TI is wack too.
what the fuck are you listening toQuote:

ok...fuck all of them, lets randomly pick budden...and scratch exxxes out
heres 10 concept songs just from BUDDEN.
3 Sides To a Story
Sidetracked
Secrets
Just to Be Different
10 Minutes
Who Killed HipHop
In My Sleep
Pray For Me
I Couldnt Help It
4 Walls
now go on and hate some more and downplay all those songs.
they have one comming. thats already a milestone for any supergroup.Quote:
They don't even have an album yet.
how many supergroups you know that have albums? the fourhorsemen released a limited EP, that dont count.
besides Masta Ace no one in EMC ever had any major exposure...so thats not really a supergroup.
and then theres The Firm...the only supergroup that i know that managed to release an album.
but go on...make more dumb statements and downplay their music. your either a hater or your sleeping on their shit. i dont know which one it is, but what i do know is that your wrong.
damn you know 10 songs from Joe Budden
thats 10 dope concept songs off the top of my head. Rollo was saying that they dont have 10 concept songs together. i can keep going, but i refuse to.
thats what im saying.
you either didnt read my post, or accidently quoted me and not Rollo.
At this moment in time?
I have a thing for boom bap..... and castlevania.
While most of these are story telling songs, a few of them are not unique or special.Quote:

In my sleep and just to be different are just a cliche. The only song in that list that passes as being close to good is who killed hiphop and even it is down right dull lol
I said good concept songs, and just to be different isn't really a concept, it's more just him bitching.
It's not hate, it's honesty my friend.Quote:

Not really........Quote:

Depends, what do you consider a supergroup?Quote:
how many supergroups you know that have albums?
This forum can be said to be dedicated to a supergroup.
Keeping in the spirit of what I think you were implying though....
La Coka Nostra
Masters of illusion
Handsome boy modeling acedemy
Boot Camp Click
West Side Connection
WC and the Mad Circle
213
purple ribbon all stars
Dungeon family
Deltron 3030
Method Man and Redman
Army of the Pharoahs
Black Market militia
The fixxers
DPGC
living legends crew(west coast, not the 8ball & MJG one)
Company flow
Soopa Villainz
The orphanage
Gravediggaz
I'm sure there are more and that's not even counting the cross over groups.
Gorillaz, body count....
I'm sorry, but what the fuck kind of hiphop fan are you? lol
You are suspect my friend... very much suspect.
Your knowledge of hiphop seems incredibly superficial.
Also, what kind of uppity elitist standard is it to say an album is automatically an LP?
I'm sorry but bull shit.
I have read NOTHING of this thread but I watched the first maybe, MINUTE of that video and I am borderline irate.
1. If you do not listen to rock and roll, you have no business making RAP music about how much of a rockstar you are.
2. Oh, and to sound down with it...he drops the name, NICKLEBACK. Are you fucking kidding me?
3. He fucks up the "horns". It's index and pinky out, thumb in. No excuses.
I wouldn't even care if he wasn't trying to sell that image so fucking hard. That trendy shit just fucking irritates me.
il go with the wikipedia definition:
"the term supergroup was coined to describe "a rock music group whose performers are already famous from having performed individually or in other groups."
with emphasis put on the words in bold...especially the word "famous"
the term supergroup is a little overused and thrown around...wikipedia will quote a group of anyone who had any sort of solo carear a supergroup...even though, by definition, that is not the case. This is why EMC is listed as a "supergroup" on wikipedia, even though out of its 4 members only one had mainstreme successful.
now taking that most common definition into consideration, the real question to you should be what do you consider being famous? since 99% of that list you assembled is NOT famous.
and not only that. but a few of the groups you listed...like DPG...were rap-groups before anyone in them had any solo success...being the requirement for a "supergroup"
Now il give you a pass on DPG....but i cant believe that you actually said "this fourm can be said to be dedicated to a supergroup"...wu-tang is not no fucking supergroup. wu-tang was a hiphop group before anyone in it because a successful solo artist. Meaning, its not a supergroup. If wu-tang was formed after the fact that a bunch of its members experianced success individaully, THEN, and only then, would it be a supergroup.
This is why when you wikipedia "Wu-tang"...you get something like "wu-tang is a hiphop group"...not "supergroup". most of wu's members were practically unknown in all aspects of hiphop, even underground, before they broke through as a group.
You, and as well as the other pro-wu anti-slaughterhouse people on the site should know this like the back of your hand.
il give you this though...i was wrong when i said i cant think of anyone but the Firm. i forgot about 213 and WSC. and i guess Meth and Red works too...although its sketchy cuz they dont really carry as a group. The term "duo" seems to work for them a lot better than "group"
Now you said as a "fan of hiphop" im "suspect"
Fine...
but reading your last post....id say as a person of common sense, your suspect.
Lastly, before you jump the gun and say "well no one in slaughterhouse had a successful solo carear either"...your only partly right. they all had major mainstream exposure, which i would say is good enough for them to be now considered a supergroup...even though their mainstreme success as solo artists was short lived.
I'm sorry but how long have you been in hiphop? Most of those people ARE famous and were famous before hand.
Dungeon family had outkast and goodie mob
West Side connection had fucking Ice Cube WC and Mack 10
213 was fucking nate dogg, warren G and snoop....
Handsome boy modeling school was prince paul and dan the automator
DPGC was Daz, kurupt, Snoop, Warren G, lady of rage, RBX and Bad azz...
Boot camp click had Buckshot from black moon, smif and wesson and heltah skeltah
Gravediggaz had Prince Paul and Rza who had just did 36 chambers...
Deltron had Del the Funky Homosapien Dan the Automator
Purple Ribbon all stars had Bubba Sparxxx and Big Boi from outkast..
La Coka Nostra was famous also, everlast and Dj Lethal especially
Masters of Illusion had Kool Keith and KutMasta Kurt who are most definitely famous
99% of my list isn't famous?
Are you on crack?
Everyone there has had more radio play than anyone in the group your backing lol
As for supergroup
The term supergroup can be seen as subjective good sir, that's why I said it depends on your definition.
Calling me out on something I acknowledged as subjective shows bluster on your part.
More over, not knowing most of those people were famous....
is just.... lulz....
Please, school yourself before you come at me with shit you obviously don't know.
How the fuck do you not know BCC is a super group? lol
like i said...aside from WSC, 213, meth and red, and fine...il give you dungeon family as well, no one there had mainstream success.
what the fuck are you talking about BCC having success? in the hiphop world sure, but not mainstream by any means.
walk down the street and ask someone if they ever heard of heltah skeltah. your out of your mind.
[QUOTE=standout;1627198]like i said...aside from WSC, 213, meth and red, and fine...il give you dungeon family as well, no one there had mainstream success.
Purple ribbon all stars had bubba sparxxx and Big Boi from outkast, how are they not famous mainstream rappers? Do you know how many fucking plays their singles get? lol
Del isn't famous? So all those years Dj's spun mista dobalina are just a myth to you? And that Souls of mischief track as well as Del's work with the Gorillaz?
Are you retarded? lol
He's sold way the fuck more than anyone in slaughterhouse and let me flip that question, who in slaughterhouse has had mainstream success? Not a damn one of them.
The gravediggaz were all over the fucking radio, how is that not mainstream success? Prince paul who produced De la soul, grave diggaz, and a million other things is one of the most successful producers of all time. Same with Dan the Automator.
I'm sorry, but what the hell are you even talking about anymore?
BCC is so famous, and most people know Sean price you jack ass, he was all over the radio in the 90s.
I heard heltah skeltah on the radio when their last disc dropped, I heard nothing from budden on the radio last year, so wtf are you talking about?
Black Moon isn't famous? Mother fucker please....
Handsome boy modeling school was all over the radio also and so was their earlier material, which you would know, except you obviously don't know shit about dan the automator.
What is commercial now, was not the same as it was in the 90s.
Do some research little man.
yes, because you, at 22 years old, knew what was popping off in hiphop was back in the 90s.
quit speaking out of your ass.
you know about as well as i do. on that note, im done arguing here. im glad that i read some smart comments...glad that i read some very stupid ones.
wu tang is dope...im looking forward to all of their future projects.
slaughterhouse is dope...if u dont agree, look around and youl notice that there is no one holding a gun to you saying you have to listen to them. so dont.
however, if it bothers you that their considered "dope" even though you disagree (which seems to be the case with 90% of the people here), then i suggest you wear a mouthguard to protect you from biting your lips off for the rest of the year since they got 1 group album, 4 solo albums, 3 eps, and 4 official mixtapes coming out by first quarter next year...so be prepared to hear about them in every hiphop discussion on or offline and read about them in every hiphop magazine you pick up.
