Ghost said that he had no problems with clearnaces and that generally his album was as he had planned. So maybe he hadn't planned for Charlie Brown to be on the cd.

what about the champ, that wasnt a sample clearance issue? that beat should've been left as it was.Quote:

I grabbed the last copy on the new release shelf yesterday people must be buying it like crazy b/c of Ne-Yo(oh well sales are sales) and it was the cheapest cd on the new releases, there were a ton of TI albums there but that's probablly b/c there expecting big sales for it....and I don't care if Ghost is on Def Jam(that label has alot of good history behind it so I dont care) Jay-Z I don't care for but he's retired I dont care if he's president so whats with all the hating.

I see were you coming from but I was speaking on what I saw at the Best Buy near me uptown NY....I saw mad T.I albums in stock and only a few Fishscale albums. But it may be due to there is more in stock for T.I.s new album than Ghostface Fishscale in Best Buy...but regradless Fishscale seems to be selling well from what I saw around me.Quote:

Also I dont know...it seems as if the 9 Milli Bros track was RUSHED...I say that because I was listsening to the track and the Rza intro and I hear a phone ringing in the background..lol and also Ins voice didnt sound to healthy and the lack of no verse from Rza......it just seem like everyone was to busy at the time this track was done to give it there best or make it better. EH....maybe its just me...after hearing this track for fucking 10x already..lol
I doubt its wrong but if it is tell seeklyrics.com, lyricsfind.com, lyricsdepot.com, stlyrics.com etc...point is dont post up "please get the lyrics right" when you dont even post what you think is correct.Quote:

Wonder how his sales will be for first week. Hopefully he sells a lot.
all i'm hearing is positive so... fingers crossed for ghost and the wu in generalQuote:

this album is dope as hell. i didnt hear but only two tracks before i bought the cd (Back like that, Be Easy) and im glad i did. i felt like a kid on christmas yo. this cd is fire. the Doom beats are the ones that stand out the most though. i really cant wait to hear that Doom/Ghost album. that should be very interesting to hear. and after hearing 9 mili brothers, i was thinking, maybe, possibly a Rza/Doom prod calabo on the next wu album..??? just a thought. good album though. played it all the way thru without no need to change tracks. will it be a classic...like da one dude said..time will tell..if you still bumping fishscales 5 years from now, its a classic..SC still gets spins in my cd player..lol

T.I. has sales and recognition. Having recognition by a bunch of nerdy internet fans really doesn't get you far...Quote:

Yo i ain't gonna say it's a classic. I'm hype it's out to but i'm not trippin'. This album is dope, i keep it on repeat. i think he's a little soft on some points but i'll blame def jam partly for that cause he still make it a little rugged. The champ is fuckin 7:30 yo. I have to admit i didn't think his album would sell like it did, i heard online mad folks talkin about it being sold out, i work at a department store & i hid my copy a week before it was on the shelves. I'm glad i did cause it was sold out almost everywhere except the mall. Why was it so cheap? 7 dollars are you serious? Only thing i would change is the cover to that one where he with the fish. someone posted it before but either way it don't change the sound.
he says "gimme that bullshit hook for ya ni**as"Quote:

You may find a few good singles, but together, the album just does not add up.
That said, I'm much looking forward to the Ghost and Doom collabo where there will be some consistency.
wow, if you dont feel FISHSCALE you must have absolutly hated PRETTY TONY and BULLETPROOF WALLETS.....Quote:

Ghostface Killah
Fishscale

It’s been real tough to be a Wu-Tang fan in the last several years. Only two group albums in the last nine years, the death of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and a plethora of uninspired and bland solo albums has turned off many former fans, leaving only the most die-hard to still care. The shining light throughout it all has been the Clan’s second most animated character, Ghostface Killah, who has dropped one of the most consistent catalogues in hip-hop, period. With his fifth release, Fishscale, Ghostface keeps the Wu sound alive in a big way, with help from his Clansmen and some of hip-hop’s most acclaimed underground producers.
Despite the album’s production being outsourced to beatmakers outside of the Wu camp, Fishscale captures the vintage mid-‘90s Rza sound as Ghost contributes his usual lyrical looniness. On the hectic and hype-as-hell Just Blaze-laced “The Champ”, Ghostface stakes his claim at king-of-New-York-status, while managing to take shots at some of hip-hop’s flavor of the month, candy-coated artists. The late J. Dilla provided two of his Donuts in the form of the eerie storytelling skit “Beauty Jackson” and the dedication to parental discipline, “Whip You With The Strap”.
After receiving nearly zero Wu-assistance on The Pretty Toney Album, Ghost decides to provide us with a heap of the good stuff on Fishscale. “9 Milli Bros.” is the first track, in what seems like ages, to feature the entire Wu-Tang Clan, including Dirt Dog and Cappadonna over a messy piano loop. The chemistry is still alive, and only keeps us yearning for at least one more group album. Cuban Link brother Raekwon also helps out on the head-nodder “R.A.G.U. (Rae And Ghost United)”, a song that captures the essence of 1995, as well as on the catchy drug tale “Kilo”, and the funky guitar-licking lyrical exercise “Dogs of War”.
Hip-hop legend Pete Rock assists with the horn-heavy “Be Easy”, which finds Ghostface and protégé Trife Da God trading verses. Ghost, known for his nonsensical storytelling, reaches a new level of weird on “Underwater”, a spaced-out flute track produced by MF Doom, which discusses such issues as “Spongebob in the Bentley Coup”.
Fishscale is great from beginning to end. From the triumphant horns of “Shakey Dog”, to the bongos, chipmunk soul and strings of “Crack Spot”, to the heartfelt reflections on “Momma”, Ghostface Killah delivers the goods once again in a major way, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

That's the thing. I love Bulletproof Wallets. It is more coherent. Fishscale is a collection of singles. It also had more top notch singles that I loved; Fishscale has one, 9 milli bros.Quote:

This just adds to his great catalog of c.d.'s !
Toney never have stepped on us.. Like some people we follow.
DAMN! I'm still waiting for my copy!! Every shop over here said 27-03 but they were obviously wrong. It is dropping either tuesday or wednesday.. cant wait to get a copy!!
I agree you with you guys (Bergs, Tical2000, Ghost Deini). Ghost has the mad respect in the hip hop community that T.I. doesn't have. It's sad that many people who buy T.I.'s album likes garbage....
Just copped the official album from Best Buy for $6.99. But 4real I think Ghost's verse on Jellyfish is classic. The way he puts his references together is amazing.
'Clit was fallin out her panties with no where to stash it....'
Jellyfish is one of my favorite joints off of FISHSCALE. I love how he sings that hook from that oldies classic "Special Lady." That's was cool about Ghost, he throws in oldies as hooks or beats. And that my niggas is how you get a girls pussy wet by mixing it up with some smooth r&b classics.Quote:
