I've just seen Peter Power on tv (remember 7/7, he was in charge of monarch security, who had a govt military exercises going on, where bombs would explode on bus' and trains, very similar to 9/11 war games exercises)), he called the looting in London yesterday as 'aggressive late night shopping', what a fucking tool.

That's just plain ignorant of those punks, from the pictures I saw it was just people in general rioting and looting, not any particular race. It's quite funny also that people are piping up about immigrants when they talk about this rioting but they don't realise that it is the native people doing it. It is basically the criminals coming out and having a free for all, nothing to do with a certain race. I should imagine there are quite a few people who are actually crazy as well that are doing it for the rush.

From a rioters point of view I can see the appeal, but when you consider the damage you are doing it is really out of order. I should imagine the rush from getting geared up, wrapping the scarf around you're face and putting you're hood up, the adrenaline must be pumping. Although smashing up shops is just not fair and burning peoples possessions and houses. It's just part of the fun and they aren't thinking about the businesses or the impact it will have in the area, those youts have got nothing to lose which is how they can smash up and steal from shops without feeling guilty..

well.. what have they got to loose, their govts have shown (through out time) that if you want somthing.. go into foreign lands and take it,. the role models of these kids are govts? maybe popstars who preach materialism..


how can the kids feel guilty, if both the last 2 primeministers, are both in iraq/afghanistan, when the intelligence for both those conflicts has been prooved false, yet britian keeps on raping and pillaging..

what are the youth expected to do?
the problem is why they think this is ok, and why they do not feel guilty.

but to answer that, is to question (how civil is) western society..

This has been a crazy 3 days, it's now countrywide, not just London. Birmingham's main city centre street was having major high street shops looted in mid day, no police anywhere. People have been literally STROLLING out of major store with armfulls of TV's. In London, one city centre street was being looted for 2 AND A HALF HOURS and no sign of police anywhere. That's hard to get your head around.

What you basically have here though, is a modern society in which poor people live surrounded by wealth and materialism that non of them can afford. And they've snapped.

I'm not looking forward to the Olympics next year as I'm only a few minutes away from it and the area it's being held in is still one of the poorest in London.

The looters are just opportunists interested in making a few bob.

There were copycat riots in other areas of the country because the police from those areas were all brought down to London.

So far no post offices were hit cos they all need to cash their giros. Branches of nandos are also safe cos everyone loves chicken.
