It's absolutely fucking mind blowing how dumb people still are in 2025. I stay detached from society so I don't have to deal with it, but it's impossible to avoid, n then i slip up n come to places like this forum n that's just pure self punishment.
We can see here that actual wu fans mostly think this is garbage. And yet you're still believing that whatever garbage you're reading on the internet about this mixtape being great is genuine.
Not only that, but you think because other people r apparently saying it's good, that i should too. Fishscale all over again.
Gonna try to make this my cue to leave. Keep enjoying this masterfully crafted magnum opus into the brilliant mind of hip hop's most endless pool of creativity and deep artistic expression, and most importantly, NEVER forget that Ghostface loves and deeply respects his fanbase. He's doing this all for YOU.
if theres one guy that will get wu fans on different sides of the fence . its ghost.
see. we Rza people never have to worry about that. we know exactly what we getting from the abbott and guess what? we love it, minus a better tomorrow. NEVER EVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN RZA.
EVERQ
You didn't like Fishscale either??! Yea bro maybe u just don't like Wu or in particular ghostface.
Or what's more likely, it's not far fetched for fans to outgrow artists' music or vice versa.
93-99/00 wu is gone bro. Appreciate the time we were in and the music we received and move on or grow with the artist. To ask an artist to continuously make the same shit or stay in the same lane isn't fair cuz eventually fans will get bored of that too and the conversation will then be "why didn't they try anything different/new".
Check the formula.
Mainstream example: jayz. Reasonable doubt, blueprint 3, and 444. RD is a classic, artist evolved and BP3 is hot garbage, and 444 is hated on by RD purists but loved by the majority.
This instance we've got Ghostface- Ironman/SC, ghostface killas/set the tone, and SC2. Classic, hot garbage, hated by purists but loved by the majority.
Mostly right. You're not accurate about Wu purists reception of this album tho. Most Wu purists I know, including me and alot of online and media personalities who are known Wu/Ghost fans (like Charlamagne), are digging this album. Some were offput by the SC2 name but once they got over that they sat down and realized how fucking dope this album is. How can you be a fan of Ghost and not like songs like Georgy Porgy, Zoom, Candyland, The Trial, the 4th Disciple track...? Some of his best tracks he's put out in the last 15 years! Bunch of gems on this album that I find hard to believe real Ghost fans would hate if they actually listened to em. That noel411 loser not even liking Fishscale let's you know any opinions he has regarding Ghost or Wu should be dismissed. His music taste is ass.
It feels like Fishscale and this mixtape are made according to the same formula. The formula of thinking what makes a great Ghost album without understanding what makes a great Ghost album. Just because some songs or frafts are there, does not make it complete. Whereas Fishscale was a by the beat execution by the label based upon the previous albums, this is a mixtape done by AI.
My bet is Nas just likes Ghost a lot, and Mass Appeal gave him total creative control— two albums in one year.
Ghost, being a guy who clearly isn’t skilled at making albums, ends up putting out a mixtape. But it feels kind of unnatural. Every emcee in the world would kill for a Redman feature, and Red gets a weak intro. Styles and M.O.P.? Sorry, but they’re washed-up NY thug rappers— lyrically never on par with the Wu or a few others.
The beats are mostly boring — generic drum kits and well-known samples. Long soul loops worked on Pretty Toney and Fishscale because they were a contrast to the synth craze of that era. Times have changed, and this doesn’t sound fresh.
Music albums need real producers. Producing is a trade — a serious one.
The Zoom, Candyland, Georgy Porgy, You Ma Friend are vintage Ghost.
Could take or leave 4th, the beat doesn't do much for me, it just makes me wanna listen to impossible.
The Sale of the Century Skit should never have made the cut.
alot of the sentiment here seems to come from this idea that Ghostface owes the fans something. he doesn't lol. he's making music that you can choose to listen to or not. i don't know why people are getting so emotional about it.
Nothing will ever touch 93-97, or Supreme Clientele 1 or some of the classic tracks from the W and 8 diagrams. Nothing. NEVER. IMPOSSIBLE.
The sooner people realise that, the better.
Google : ''Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientele 2 was executive produced by Ghostface and Shawn Wigs, who is Ghostface's half-brother and a rapper named Vito Coles. '' ----- half brother ?! LOL
''Based on the pics of the physical album, we now know Supreme Clientelle 2 is executive produced by Ghost and Shawn Wigs''

"I hope wigz ain’t all over this album man, please don’t let him be all over this album."
He probably ghostwrote "Metaphysics" & " Candyland"
All those years of riding gfk coattails has paid off for Wiggs , he got a Executive Producer credit.
ITS ALL WIGGS FAULT WUNIVERSE !!!!
Rap kingpin been getting a lot play in my house lately. That’s what brought me here
Should have called this something like ‘Sublime Clientele’ to make it more of spiritual successor and not a direct sequel.
I love this album btw. Im listening to it now, and I think this is my 17th time having it play through.
17 times in a week is quite something for me. Wouldn’t be doing so if I thought this it some B.S.
Hope that cartoon album he mentioned is on par with this in terms of quality and I’d be happy with that.
Be wild if he had a late stage purple patch.
He said in interview that he wanted Lil Wayne and Mac Miller (even though he couldn’t remember his name) on this album. Which is even more proof that this should not have been called SC2 and that Ghost has no clue who his fan base is. Peace 🕊️
Streets saying this album of the year.
After a few listen the album grew on me. Lyrically Ghostface is still sharp for sure. The main problem are some of the beats. I don't like Zoom, Soul Thang, Beat box and You Ma Friend (The beat is fruity and soft). Those are the worst songs on the album. RZA should have produced 3-4 songs on this album. The outcome could have been better. Ghostface could have use Alchemist, Appolo Brown if he didn't want Wu production. I guess 4th Disciple is the only Wu producer on the album and the song is like 1min and a few seconds 😆.
Listened to it once and don't feel the urge to listen to it again. Whereas with SC, I couldn't get enough of it when it dropped and banged it everyday for a month or 2. This was back when CD's were a thing though and I remember the cassette was missing some songs, so I had to return it and cop the CD. Good times! + Ghost and RZ were on the cover of The Source that month, so it made it the more special. That was a great time to be a Wu fan and I hoped the next Wu record (The W) would bang like that too. Sadly it turned out to be a disappointment (compared to SC), but it grew on me with the years though.
The production is where the main problem is. Lyrically Ghost still has it and his flow is immaculate. I wonder what the hell all of these Wu producers are doing right now 🤔

He explains it in this Nems interview. The way I interpreted it was Mac Miller was supposed to be on Candyland, had it all set up, but then he passed away. So Ghost tried for Lil Wayne afterwards to take that spot on Candyland. So it would’ve been 2018 Lil Wayne or later.
The joint with Jadakiss got cut for being “too slow”, along with a Havoc track. Amongst others. Ghost will be on the new Mobb Deep album tho, so maybe it’s that joint.
Clears the air on the track names and album art a little. Doesn’t rule out a SC3 in the year 2050. lol
Fun interview

Joe and Jada couldn't help themselves!
Top notch album. Ghost did REAL Wu fans good. REAL Hip Hop fans good.
This album clearly lacks RZA's involvement, his judgement, his vision. Part I woudn't be what it is if it wasn't for RZ. Ghost surrounded himself with yes-man, who don't dare to criticise his choices and that's the "album" we got.
august fanon, mach hommy + ug producer said hes remixing the album on his own i guess. Did a track with the ironman rock flip for ironman so far. Sounds like some 12 reasons stuff but well see idk yet. I like og more but depends how album sounds

dont think itll get old wu fans excited but maybe new ug hh heads
Mac Miller on Candyland actually would've sounded dope and could've been a classic. Perfect choice for this beat
