Btw, Kamikaze, do you have an updated version of your sample list that you could post? I know you posted it earlier in the thread but I went back about 15 pages and couldn't find it. If you could, it would be much appreciated. One Love.

Here are the other tracks.
Shimmy just chops & loops the first couple of notes of the Stevie song.

There is actually quite a bit of debate among soul enthusiasts regading this song. many (myself included), don't believe that this is actually O.V., but rather a "sound-alike". If you know alot of his stuff, it's clearly a different singer. I know this has nothing to do with the sample itself, but thought I'd drop a little jewel on you.Quote:

your list is supagood work, man...
Peace, Kamikaze. That's one hell of a list you've got there. I actually know of a few songs that you don't have on your list, but I only have them on vinyl with no way to convert to CD. I also don't have a P2P program on my computer anymore, so I have no way of getting them on the internet. The one that I came across the other day is the sample for "Glory" by La The Darkman. This was an unreleased La song that was recorded for Heist Of The Century, I think. Anyway, the song samples "It's Only Love (Doing Its Thing)" by Barry White. Also, I'm working on getting the 9th Prince "100 Degrees" sample. I know it's an Issac Hayes sample, but I have been through all of my Issac Hayes records and can't find it, meaning that it's on The Shaft Soundtrack, which I lent out to a friend about three weeks ago. I'm supposed to see him today, so hopefully I can get the record back and at least give ya'll the song title. Anyways, thanks again for posting the sample list and I'll work on song titles for a few of the other ones that I didn't see on your list, as well. One Love.

That's cool. Song titles are just as good as the song to me lol. I kinda enjoy the hunt. Thanks for the heads up on the La sample. I'll check that out.Quote:

Here's one that I didn't see on your list that I can put up:
Dom Pachino-My Story (from Domination)-
Issac Hayes-If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want To Be Right):
http://rapidshare.de/files/7162467/I...Right.mp3.html
My boy also has the sample for "It Ain't Fair" (track 2 on Domination) on vinyl. I don't remember the title of the song, but I know the artist is Barbara Mason. I'll try to find out more on that one too. One Love.

thanks Kam
also on your list I don't see the sample for the beat to Tragedy, I posted that somewhere in here, let me know if you need it
Well, I tried to search for it in this topic, but couldnt find it... Only looked till page 35 tough ;)
Whats the name of the female artist sampled in Swinging Swords by Killarmy?

well it's the exact same melody, and it 's in the song that Let MyNiggas Live sampled, so it makes sense. You know they could have synthed it out so it sounds like a different instrument. I'll keep my eye(ear?) out for anything else that it could be, but i think this is it.Quote:
