he's an HBO fighter
well he's out
how wack is it that networks determine fights
I'm only waiting for that Dirrell/Ward fight...and i'd like to see Margarito get his ass whooped too.
ive heard two possible solutions that showtime might create in order to continue the super 6 tourny
- Throw out Greene and have carl froch vs abraham/ ward vs dirrel as the semi final
- Throw in Sakio Bika as a replacement
At this moment the tournament is FUCKED. Ward dirrel is most likely not happening due to venue issues, thats why none of the promoters have spoken out in the last day, because nobody knows what can happen.
Ward wants a fight in oakland (hometown) vegas or neutral but dirrel wants the fight in detroit, ward is refusing, negotiations hit the briickks.
according to boxrec
amir khan vs maidana
Micheal Katsidis vs Juan manuel Marquez
is happening. IF this is true then boxing in 2010 is somewhat saved
khan vs madana has potential to be a scorcher
JMM's fights are great to watch now that he's older and gets hit a little more
The Super Six tournament has dragged on for too long. It should have been you win & you go on, you lose & you're out. Dragging this on for more than a year is a little too much. Aside from that 2 of the original fighters are out before they were eliminated. Good idea but bad execution IMO.
I think these fighters (Alexander, Bradley, etc.) are not agreeing to terms on big fights is because they are scared of losing. Or losing they're big 0. Some of these dudes aren't that famous or big draws to be turning down 7 figure purses. Haye was offered a 50/50 split with one of the Klitchko's, no future obligations on his next fight, one & done & no strings attached. He turned it down. The only fighters that can crack at least 500k PPV buys are Mayweather & Pacman.
Anyone find Mayweather's latest comments amusing? He's still on vacation, and for a guy who is in his prime (and wasting it IMO) should be in the ring more often. Imagine if he fought 3 times a year at least. Andre Berto, Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, Pacman, are just some of the guys that would be willing to fight him at 147. I know he's rich but I've seen this story many times before.
Was Mayweather saying some racist things?
^^Basically yes, although he's since apologized. Probably Mayweather's way of staying in the news. After all he's still on vacation.
I still wonder what Mayweather has up his sleeve. As the Pac-May negotiations were rambling on during July, Mayweather decided that he's on a vacation from boxing. Now that the Pac-Margarito fight is completely official, he announces he's back and will name his next opponent soon.
Seems to obvious for people to claim he's ducking, and I know Mayweather would not have wanted it to pan out that way unless he truly did want this to happen and a plan behind it.
there is nobody left for him to fight. he could go up to middle and grab belts but still.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Is Mayweather going to get some psychiatric help?
