lol, this thread is still going?
It's just two different opinions and tastes in music. Some people prefer the clever wordplay, metaphors, obscure subject material etc from rappers like Holocaust and some people prefer the swagger, delivery, mic presence (and obviously good lyrics still) etc of someone like Biggie.
Obviously it's not actually that simple, people like stuff from both sides, but that's pretty much what it comes down to. Lol @ how angry and defensive some people get when someone disagrees with them.
(not directed at you whers, at that jensen guy, i actually like english people, just not this guy because he's a snake)
Yeha, now you come fucking crawling back.
Fucking english piece of filth
you feel pretty fucking small now dont you
huh
what
i cant fucking hear you
i thought so.
lets collab on a track sometime god.
yeah sorry, as i said, most of the english dudes on here are good, and most english people ive met are fine.
Just not this guy.
Can you believe he made a diss track about me?
Jesus.
lol its cool it doesn't bother me anyway
Whats up with putting Pat's name where mine was anyway ?
This actually proves nothing...
Only that I can form my own opinion and am not scared to say it.
I simply pointed out the fact that I think Holo's early style (Silkworm)
Reminded me of Biggie...but he got bored of it due to it becoming to easy
So he switched it up...
I wondered if Biggie diddn't pass so soon would he have made a similar move ?
People have said themselves he found it real easy, it was like a game to him.
Thats why I said Holo is the definition...he is an instrument of Emcees
Where as Biggie is more one dimensional..that was all.
I understand he died without really spreading his wings so to speak...
As a matter of fact I think this is a reason why he is considered so great.
nah what i mean is just that you said Biggie was talking the ordinary shit about guns, crack and broads but he is so much more complex than that. he's like a more charismatic version of Shabazz in large parts of Ready to Die (don't get me wrong, i fucking love 'Bazz too) - and that's what I gave some examples on in my response... I'm a fan of much underground shit also as you know though I feel the best shit is what's in between - the hardcore boom-bap from mid-'90s like early Biggie, D.I.T.C., Shabazz, Royce, Tragedy and them but still got love for acts like Cannibal OX, Jean Grae, etc...
did you bump the Mr. Len album I sent you a couple months back BTW?
peace
nah I don't think so, he would probably have gone the same way as Jay-Z and Nas - if you look at "Life After Death" the production started getting glossier and glossier (don't get me wrong that album is a fucking banger too). people get money hungry, just look at Fat Joe who used to be a real respected hardcore underground rapper down with one of the illest crews hip-hop has ever seen (almost on Wu's level) [and i'm not talking Terror Squad] and look at him now - i think the same would have been the case for Pun.
Hence the wordplay comment.
I do prefer the underground artists more...
I will check it out again, but according to brock there's not much point...
Me not being american and not being born earlier.
But I'll check it out again...oh wait I'm closed minded, I forgot.
Mr. Len was sick from what I remember, real different.
I lost it when I switched computers though, I lost alot of stuff actually.
