^ Americans mainly so far.
Highly unlikely. I get that there's a propaganda war as well but some of Ukraine's claims are ridiculous. Russia's losses are big as those inside Russia or close to it have detailed. As I mentioned before there's an unusually high casualty rate among ethnic minorities. Dagestanis being number 1 and Buryat's (Mongolians) being 2nd. 200k though is a laughable number.
Truth is now that Russia is solely focused on the East they are making gains while all Ukrainian counter attacks have failed. They just cannot win back lost territory without air support. So all the weapons NATO is providing is only good to slow down Russian advances but it won't win Ukraine the war. It's damaged Russia's ego heavily though.
Many countries have opened up to Russian oligarchs, the western world has sanctioned them but the rest are welcoming them with open arms.
How many years have to pass before its appropriate to bring out the COD game of this?
Ed bloody Sheeran? God, the war crimes just keep piling on, don't they?
They're saying Russia may officially declare war today. Not sure what difference that makes at this point, I guess stepping up their aggression further in Ukraine?
Russia has a defense pact with a few countries like Kazakhstan, Belarus etc. Declaring war officially would enable Russia to pull foreign troops from that joint taskforce currently stationed in the occupied areas of Georgia and transport them to Ukraine for deployment.
Also Russia can draft its citizens into the army whe n war is officialle declared. They cannot be deployed immediately, they need about 3 months of training first.
Situation looking worse by the day.
In hearing the Ruble is now a best performing currency of the year. Idk the implication of this cause idk finance and I'm inclined to think it's conveniently wording something increasing from nothing to something.
Also is it true they linked it to gold?

Looks like Sweden and Finland are almost certainly joining NATO. Putin may see this as a threat and start expanding his attacks into Europe.
^^Russia will stop supplying Finland with electricity as of midnight. Officially the Russians have some reason in the lines of 'the neighbors are behind on their payments' but obviously it's because of the NATO membership request.
tbh I didn't even know Russia was supplying Finland w/ electricity. Russia was taking care of 10% of Finland's electricity needs (it was more before the war in Ukraine)
EDIT : I looked into it some more. Nord Pole, which arranges electricity supply exchanges between 16 European countries, has indeed stopped paying Russia for the electricity supplied to Finland on May 6. This pan Euopean company has not commented on it yet. Sanctions? Power play? Lobbyism? Opportunism? IDK your guess is as good as mine
The Turkish President said he doesn't look too favourably on the two joining, Finlands not a big issue but it's Sweden that Turkey doesn't want in NATO. Will probably ask for money or something but this was coming as Turkey and Sweden have a rift over Sweden's support for the Kurds in N.Syria.
The Russians pull back from Kharkiv. The special operation really isn't going well after all. Most likely will solely focus on the Donbass and try to negotiate to save face. There were many reports of Ukrainian counter attacks failing but the Russians just can't advance either.
As someone who civ 6 on Immortal Mode I think I could have pulled this off better than Putin. But we'll see
you know a site is going to crap when people are discussing finland with titties in their face
at least the USSR has a great history attached with it. what the fuck great, good or even mediocre has come from finland, norway, or any of these other nameless places?
You prefer poverty and fascism to wealth and democracy?

Putin signs law that allows people (termed 'citizen experts')older than 40 to join the atmy. The official reason is that the army needs more specialist, people who can operate precision weapons. 'I takes time for people to build up experience using these types of weapons.'
Russia's gaining territory in the Donetsk and most of all in the Luhansk provinces
The talks betwern Turkey and Sweden + Finland about NATO membership aren't going well.
Erdogan is probably looking for a way to lift the US embargo on F16 and F-35 shipments. (Embargo installed because of the Russian S-400s that Turkey bought.)
There's more to it than that. Turkey buying s400's was the dumbest decision it could make when it was an integral part of the F-35 program, Turkish companies were set to manufacture key parts for jet, all the European F-35's would be serviced in Turkey. We also built a $1bn aircraft carrier specifically for the F35, so not a full blown carrier but one which accommodates vertical take off. They've been planning this for 20+ years, spent billions. Turkish industry would gain $13bn from the program. 120 F-35 would be on order making it the 3rd largest order, giving Turkey essentially the most superior air force in the region along with it's 260 F-16s. This is Erdogan for you, an unpredictable person who makes decisions based on personal relationships with world leaders instead of rationale. He cool with Putin so he allowed Putin to con him into buying S400s. Turkey hasn't even activated them and can't due to more sanctions being imposed. What's fucking stupid is they still insist it was a good idea and want to buy more. So it's almost certain that Turkey won't get the F-35s, what they want is upgrades for the aging F16 fleet. Turkey actually builds it's F16s under licence so just need permission and parts for the latest variant which for now the US is saying no to. It's an absolute mess.
The Sweden-Finland issue though is different. Turkey was always going to say no to Sweden due to it's links with the PKK. The fact that it happily funds the YPG in Northern Syria, the YPG basically being a rebranded PKK. This has been going on for years and I'm surprised analysts are shocked that Turkey would veto Sweden. Finland isn't an issue but they go burning down alongside Sweden. At the end of the day whenever issues like this arise Erdogan can be swayed, it just takes a phone call from Washington like it has in the past. Thing is Biden quite smartly is giving Erdogan no attention, cause he knows elections in Turkey are coming up and the best way for Erdogan to lose face is for Washington to completely ignore him. Elections next year in Turkey are big, the biggest ever. Erdogan has trashed the economy, the refugee issue is huge, so big you have like Turkish equivalents to European right wing parties now popping up and now the prospect of another operation in Syria. Also when election time comes in Turkey bombs start going off in city centres. There's even a new pro-Erdogan islamist paramilitary who threatened to not accept the election results if it goes against Erdogan.
So yeah fun times ahead.
HANZO why do Russia and Turkey pretend to be friends when it’s blatantly obvious that don’t like each other? If Europe went to war against Russia who’s side would Turkey be on?
Russia is finished! I see it. As soon as the eu stop buying energy its days or weeks then they fold.
Actually I read that Putin already dead but what you know about that? They out here with a Putin clone for Tv speeches?
It's because trade is big between the two and Turkey relies heavily on Russian gas and tourists, so economically Russia has Turkey by the balls. Plus Istanbul is full of top end Russian whores.
Erdogan trusts Putin though and this came about during the failed coup attempt back in 2016. While all world leaders said nothing Putin called Erdogan and offered support, it's said Putin even offered to send Spetsz Natz from a nearby warship to protect Erdogan. All the while the US was eerily quiet during that night and it was reported that US tanker planes which took off from the US military base in Turkey had refueled the Turkish F16's that had bombed parliament. Is there truth to that? most likely as those jets needed to be refueled and Turkeys own tanker planes were grounded during that night. Note that Putin offered this help after relations were sour due to Turkey shooting down the Russian jet on it's Syrian border.
It ain't all rosy though, in Syria Turkey and Russia are on opposing sides and it's well known that Russia bombed a Turkish military convoy killing 34 soldiers some 2 years ago. In Libya again on opposite sides, that's where ppl saw first hand how useful Turkish drones were against Russian equipment. Same thing then happened in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. Plenty cases of the two fighting proxy wars against each other, so the notion that Turkey is doing Russia's bidding in NATO is daft. Turkey was arming Ukraine long before the war and they let the Archbishop of Constantinople give permission to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to split from the Russian Orthodox Church which really pissed off Moscow. Russia's also meddling in the Balkans, especially Bosnia and that's something I don't think Turkey would ever accept and that's one key area which would split this odd partnership.
It's simple really, Erdogan prefers to deal with his autocrat buddy Putin because Putin doesn't care if Erdogan jails another 300 journalists, Putin ain't bringing that up during a phone call. He trusts him more than he does any European leader. As for Turks themselves, if you do a poll most actually prefer Russia and that's simply because they've all been fed a very anti-western narrative for more than a decade now. The Russian propaganda machine is very active in Turkey. So if a war occurred between Europe and Russia, I don't think Turkey would get involved as long as Russia doesn't overstep in the Turkish sphere of influence, as I said there are certain red lines like Bosnia. It only helped Ukraine because of the Crimean issue, the Crimean Tartars being Turkic and all that.
