^^well there's tons of tie-ins to civil war, if you got all of the individual civil war graphic novels, you could literally fill up a whole bookshelf lol
the thor clone thing was mainly in civil war as far as i know.
the huge 'event' story arcs following civil war were 'world war hulk', 'secret invasion' and 'seige'
spider-man has a civil war graphic novel tie-in which is rather good, but everything with his character as far as the unmasking and stuff has been undone.
This is a tough question lol...for spider-man and venom...you might want to pick up 'amazing spider-man: new ways to die', for iron man i would just start buying the 'invincible iron man' series in trades...there's 3 so far: the five nightmares, and world's most wanted pt 1-2.
captain america, his whole series by ed brubaker is pretty much quality and of course is impacted by civil war.
i was directed to this site when i first got back into comics and found it fairly helpful
http://tplist.millarworld.net/
^it has graphic novel or tpb chronologies for alot of characters, not just marvel.

I'mborrowing the individual copies of the secret invasion from a mate so I'll go down to forbidden planet and pick up the other two you mentioned. I've had a look on that site but other than the main Marvel chars and Batman I don't really know any other decent comics
Any suggestions?

^^^ya they've been hyping the shit out of it at vertigo's blog, i'm probably going to get it next week, along with 'seven soldiers' hardcover...greendale has cliff chiang art too, and he's excellent (he did 'brave and the bold' recently w/ batgirl, ww, and zatanna...buy that)
joshua dysart also writes 'unknown soldier', which i guess is being cancelled soon...i read the first trade, it's good stuff, very allegorical and 'politically charged'
that rebels cover is dope...i don't even no where to begin with the legion stuff, never followed it...

me niether, but ive kinda wanted too..cuz of Braniac..eloels.

i was getting unknown soldier when it first came out. up til about issue 7 or 8. its really good stuff. detailed and gritty. i just stopped getting it due to the comic financial cap. lol
anybody keep up on the boys? herogasm and the origin storylines weren't the best, but its getting decent again.
new avengers 1 was great. easily the best of the heroic age relaunch. it would be the one to go with if you were to just buy one avenger title. the art was the shit. it was almost like a power man and iron fist team up with other heroes book.lol. just wish they would get their own line up rather than have too many of the same characters on both squads.

i couldn't get into 'the boys' because it just seemed mean-spirited (the issue with the wheelchair-hooker or whatever was the one i read) and it's too soaked in ennis' contempt for superheroes for me to enjoy
review of greendale with some beautiful art:

apparently cliff chiang was neil's first and only choice to do the artwork, which is pretty cool
batwoman #1 page, should be the shit

we'll see how the writing holds up
-
for what? batwoman or greendale?
the art is the main draw on 'batwoman' for me (pun intended)...i thought the rucka penned issues were not very well-written for the first and last arc, the only time the story kept my attention was the stuff about her origin and the military.
-
i meant for batwoman..has JH written some good shit ever? and hes co writting this with someone im not familiar with
-
he co-wrote 'chase' in the 90s that was good even though it was only like 9-10 issues...his co-writer on batwoman wrote star wars stuff, i think
