I have that Charles barkley book, but I have to start reading it. I would agree with you Charles Jones. I can't really think of tv shows on channels such as NBC, ABC, and CBS that have a big minority cast. Also, it shows how mindless people are when there are like 20 different Law and Order and CSI shows. How many similar types of shows do people need? And enough with all the dancing and model crap shows all over the place.

Some minorities like minority shows....but sometimes they follow too close to the minority issues. Sometimes that is fine, however when those shows are sitcoms that make small jokes involving the issues then there is a group of the similar minorities that cry stereotyping. On the other hand if they arent 'cultural' enough then they are 'whitened'. In short there will always be a large group of minorities that dont support the minority show if they are on the extremes.
Everybody Hates Chris is the only minority show that I can say besides Girlfriends, that are like the top shows, but none from any from CBS, ABC, nor NBC. The CW was great at first, they should've kept it both UPN & WB seperate.

from what i've observed, and i've been watching tv for some time now, is that the corporations will not put on a show that really reinforces positive images of minorities, nor do they really have minority shows unless there's crazy stereotypes in it, and if the stereotypes aren't blatant, the acting is. there's a certain way minorities act in these programs.
i really don't see extremes in minority programming on regular tv atleast......cable is something else though.
