I would rather not pay $50 and never hear it, than paying to listen to it, really like it, and then have the torture of knowing I'd have to pay the same again to listen again...

If I go to the movies and like the movie, I can guarantee myself of owning it at a later date (dvd/blue ray) So not exactly the same deal when comparing.
^that's Arts point is that you will eventually be able to own it on CD hopefully
but its the comparison of visual art to musical art..... there isn't one.
again owning original pieces of art done by famous painters is not the same as owning one CD from a rap group from the 90s. the tangible art is the box, and Ive never heard of the guy who crafted it.
if the CD does eventually get released, its make that special one copy no longer a unique rare item. where with visual art having an original is what makes it unique. therefore, its the box that makes it a unique piece, not the music
There are millions of prints of "Starry Night" though and that doesn't affect the value of the original. Maybe this will be the only physical copy made, and it will be available at some point in time digitally?
I hope this isn't true but on the ezclziv scluzay site under edictum it states:
"Wu-Tang producers Cilvaringz and The RZA present the first ever private music album.
The music will only ever have one incarnation.
IT WILL NOT BE MADE AVAILABLE DIGITALLY OR IN ANY OTHER EXISTING MASS FORMAT.
After touring the album at festivals, museums, exhibition spaces and galleries for the public as a one off experience, it will be sold exclusively to one buyer.
The music industry is in crisis. Creativity has become disposable and value has been stripped out.
Mass production and content saturation have devalued both our experience of music and our ability to establish its value.
Industrial production and digital reproduction have failed. The intrinsic value of music has been reduced to zero.
Contemporary art is worth millions by virtue of its exclusivity.
This album is a piece of contemporary art.
The debate starts here…"
This thing has gone so viral, it's unreal. It's everywhere, literally everywhere. From Time to Rolling Stone to New York Times to everywhere. It's being heavily discussed by all the major players in the music industry. This is step 1 and we succeeded beyond expectations. If you can't see this is great for the brand, then you're blind. If you're angry, that's fine. All good. If you think noone will show up at the museums, think again. You wouldn't believe our mailbox.
So if you don't wanna come and you don't like the idea, that's your right.
That's all Im gonna say about it for now.
I think it's bullshit when you pay to go to the circus, you only get to see a bear ride a unicycle just one time. Next time I buy a ticket for the circus, I'm packing that bear up and taking him home with me.
And his mother fucking unicycle.
this is a great idea, i'm all for it. Very innovative.
Haha, fucken awesome. How joyous to see people getting so upset over my honesty.
Hip hop isn't "art". At its best it's a potent form of expression over craftily arranged pieces of music somebody else wrote and played. Typically it's a simple but entertaining form of poetry and vocalization over simply arranged pieces of music somebody else wrote and played.
Don't take it so seriously.
No-hopers wasn't the best choice of words because obviously they made something of themselves. It was the best expression I could come up with at the thyme. However, I would say about half of them are STILL no hopers. They made something of themselves because they were part of a successful group, but they're still fucking useless when it comes to trying to do something on their own.
My point was though, that mostly they're just your average group of uneducated bums from the ghetto who kicked some cool rhymes over some beats made by a dude who has a good understanding of music, and now they and their fans act like they're some kind of fucking genius gods.
And I'm not calling them "uneducated bums from the ghetto" because they're black, you simple fucking idiots. I'm calling them that because they're bums from the ghetto and most of them sound dumb as shit when they try to talk, so I can only assume they're uneducated.
But please keep calling me racist. It's fucken hilarious. I love it when someone pulls the racist card. It's one of those things that are so comical you don't actually imagine it happening in reality, so when it does you've just got admire the awesome absurdity and comedy of it.
Jay-Z will buy it and burn it immediately.
