well thats why there is at large berths. but this way it give all the conference at least a chance.

well not ever team is going to make it wade. No matter how many teams you have, someone is going to get cut out.
The regular season is not meaningless. You need to win to get in. Its only 16 teams outta alot and winnig your division is a must for the smaller conferences so i dont kno how that renders the reg. season meaningless.
Shit, the regualr season is meaningless for all but 2 teams anyway the way things are now.
every team shouldnt make it. thats why i dont like NCAA Bball tournamant setup because its too inclusive. there's even been discussion on including more slots.
still, the auto-bid for conference winners doesnt work when a conference produces a 4 loss champion and theres the possibility of 7 one loss teams or even a situation where there are 7 undefeated or 1 loss teams and one of those teams gets left out while a dog team from a dog conference gets to go. thats not a good solution.
thats situation can be avoided by either excluding the lower conferences and taking their good team into the BCS conferences or dividing into seperate leagues.
a system has to be setup where voting is eliminated, and it CAN be done.
Your not making sense. First you say decide it on the field, but your against certain conferences getting bids.
Than your saying no more voting, yet taking the good teams from better conferences in.
What your trying to do won't work unless the abolish conferences and start from scratch and there is no way in hell thats going to happen nor should it.
Do you work for the bowls or something???
Any predictions on tomorrow's games?
Florida - 35
Alabama - 17
Oklahoma - 45
Missouri - 31
ACC Championship - who cares
If the Gators have Harvin, i say the win
If not, Im going with Bama.
Yea, i think Oklahoma beats missouri.
you've obvious misinterpreted everything i've wrote.
auto-bids dont work when a conference produces and 4 loss champion thus taking the spot from a team that only lost once in a much better conference but they get left out cuz they happen to be the 7th team. it doesnt solve the problem of a bunch of geeks who dont even watch the games deciding who plays and who doesnt.
eliminating the non BCS conferences was one of my solutions. and the decision to move up to the BCS conferences would be made by the school that thinks they're good enough. they could work it out with the NCAA to be included. their would of course need to be some criteria for qualification. i mean hey, if you gonna say that undefeated boise state and utah dont deserve to play for a title because their conference is too weak, then why have them around? let them have their own division like with division 2 and 3.
its like inviting some people to a banquet and telling them they cant have anything to eat. why not give them their own banquet?
again, thats one solution. the other is to keep all the conferences but divide them into leagues, BCS and non BCS. each team plays teams within their league for the regular season. for the post season you pick 8 from each league based on overall record(NOT votes) and you can use strength of schedule in the event of a tie.
to avoid having a shitty NC game every year(ie oklahoma vs. ball state), you mix things up by having 4 BCS and 4 non BCS schools on each side of the bracket.
other than bullshit like money and nostalgic traditionalism, there no reason why this wouldnt work.
The way its set up is fine...the way the guy set it up.
Its unlikely a conference champ will have 4 losses. They are usually undefeated but get shafted at a chance.
The 1 loss teams will get plenty of opportunities with the 5 at large bids.
This way, the small conferences at least have a chance but the Big Schools dont get fucked over cuz they get home field usually against a lower opponent.
Thats the best scenario i've seen yet.
it puts the shoe on the other foot. when the mac and the wac would get the short end for playing weaker competition, it'll now be the SEC and big 12 that get the short end for playing better competition.
on that example you have one team with 4 losses another with 3 and 2 others with 2. all out of weak conferences.
it depends on what people want. a solution to the problem or just something thats not the BCS?
Alright, Florida won that game without the most dynamic player in college football. It's up to these piece of shit coaches to vote Florida in now so we can see an OU-UF championship, and not a god damn rematch of OU-Texas.
the human polls already have them at 2. they should get in. whether they jump to 1 or go to 2 and move OU up.
No, the Harris Poll has them at #2, but the coaches decided to move them down to 4th and put Texas ahead of them last week. If Florida is #2 in both polls, then Texas will surely get in over them with a much superior computer average. I don't know how anyone would not vote Florida #1 after tonight, but these coaches worry me.
cross your fingers kid..
i cant stand tebow...that rah rah shit is corny. Urban Meyer is a great coach tho.
Oklahoma/Florida would be the best game
And should be the BCS game.
yea, thats prolly what it will be...altho i think USC can take either of those teams. So could Texas.
its all bullshit.
Oklahoma would beat Texas right now
God that Orange Bowl looks awful
Virginia Tech vs. Cinncinati
Cincinnati is losing right now to unranked Hawaii
ugh
Fiesta Bowl should be Texas vs. Ohio St, gonna be a good game
Rose Bowl, USC vs. Penn St. I think USC got this no problem, but still should be good
we should try getting a Wu-Corp College Bowl pick um' thing going. On yahoo or somthin if they got it
I posted this in the wrong section last time....

HOOK 'EM
what shall we wager?
the battle for the sig :) though you'd have to find something a little smaller than that very first O you threw up there in your first post. You can rock the Longhorns logo I got there for two weeks (cuz yall are gonna loose the game hahahahahahah)
ok sounds good. How about a six pack of something local too?
if texas can obliterate OSU with something like a 60-0 score, they may be able to persuade the voters give them a share of the title.
yea, thats not happening. It better not, cuz i just got this flatscreen and i dont want it broken.
LOL, dont do that man, its just a game.
i see USC winning the rose bowl again. 35-7
i think them losing to oregon St. was a fluke and nothing more than a fluke. they'll hold PSU down. it'll be a tight game for a while but USC will get their offense going later in the game and pull away.
and i think the OU/florida game will be a 6 TD blowout...in florida's favor.
OUs lack of defense is going to catch up to them in this game and florida is gonna bottle them up the same way it happened the last 2 times they went to the title game with prolific offenses and got shut down.
I dont think that will be a blowout. I think Florida's defense is beatable.
The USC loss was fluky, but thats why a playoff is needed. Cuz who is to say that loss was any worse than floridas to Ole Miss. Again. Unfairness. Look at Bama..they lossed to Fla. anyway.
My gut says Penn State gets blown out, but my heart says Joe Pa goes out there and wins it.
I used to be bad with Ohio State games and throwin shit....but im older now and ive relaxed. I just remember one time after a Michigan game in which we lost i think, i threw a pen at the wall so hard it exploded and ink was everywhere.
i'll take off one TD and make it 5. i seriously think that one is gonna be a runaway for florida though.
FSU over Wisconsion
Miami over CAL
FAU over Central Michigan
FLORIDA over OKLAHOMOS
I wouldn't be so sure about Florida, wade... We just lost our Offensive Coordinator to Miss. St. And there's a decent chance we could lose our Defensive Coordinator to UCF soon. Losing Mullen isn't that bad (it's Urb's offense, Mullen's just a mediocre playcaller), but if we lose Charlie Strong, that's horrible news.
what a crappy decision by Auburn to hire Gene Chizik over Turner Gill. Chizik was 5-19 in his two years at Iowa. meanwhile gill turned a buffalo team who I think won like 4 games in there entire life into a team who just won the mac by beating the 12th ranked team at the time and an unbeaten Ball State
Don't forget, Bedlam. Urban's dream job is Notre Dame.
a 4 loss Va. tech team playing in a BCS bowl over an undefeated boise state thats ranked 9th in all polls is the biggest pile of horseshit ever.
^^I bet Va Tech played harder teams than Boise did. I mean cmon it all boils down to that. A garbage ACC is still better than the MAC or WAC or whatever Boise plays in.
not when you come out of that garbage conference with 4 losses. and its not like boise state hasnt proven themself as they were able to take down oklahoma 2 years ago.
yea but unless boise schedules elite schools out of conference they just wont get any respect for going undefeated in their conference. So i really dont feel bad for them cuz they really dont deserve it in my opinion.
They kno how shit works, its not like this is their first time.
Notre Dame picks up a bowl win after losing 9 straight bowl games. What a sad team that is nowadays. lol
They have talented players on that team. I just think that they have been badly coached since Lou Holtz left.
