Cid Digital i just took a look at the website you suggested to me. That's pretty interesting stuff on there. When i talked about nerds at my topic that got deleted, i forgot to mention Steve Urkel on Family Matters tv show. Seeing a black teenager nerd on a tv show was the first time i had seen a black nerd on tv. Blacks don't usually see black nerds on tv because most of us have been taught that it's not cool to be intelligent and that's wack to me. I wish had a lot of intelligence like a nerd. Steve's character was something else. I thought it was phony how he would always go to Laura's house to bother her everyday when she didn't wanna be bothered with him. Ya'll know in real life, a black woman that doesn't wanna be bothered with a black male nerd will tell his ass one time that she don't want him as her boyfriend and he'll leave her alone because if he doesn't leave her alone, she'll get a boy to beat up the nerd LOL. I also thought it was phony that Laura finally started to like Steve later on. In a weird way, she eventually found him to be handsome. She was crazy about him when he was Steffan. Family Matters was a good black show. I thought it was the 2nd best black family show behind The Cosby Show because Family Matters dealt with situations that occur everyday in a black family and Harriet and Carl always gave Laura and Eddie good advice. LOL@Eddie's friend Waldo hahahahahahaha. He was stupid. I can't believe Laura's friend that used to play on Punky Brewster tv show was Waldo's girlfriend. She's cute. I've seen her on The Parkers tv show before also.



I'm at the library right now and i just checked out a book called GhettoNation:A Journey Into The Land Of Bling And The Home Of The Shameless. The author is a black woman named Cora Daniels. Ya'll should check it out. The book is about ignorant blacks and why they think it's cool to be ghetto and stupid. I also checked out another book today called Enough:The Phony Leaders, Dead End Movements, Culture Of Failure That Are Undermining Black America And What Can We Do About It. The author is a black guy named Juan Williams.

Webmasters who are in charge of banning people from websites make me sick because people shouldn't be ashamed for having different opinions. Did Ramesh say something that was outta line that caused him to get banned? I read his topic about why are white men so feminine. I agree with the stuff he said regarding that. Why was that topic of his closed? I've been banned from rap group Onyx's website, rapper Masta Ace's website, r&b singer R Kelly's website for speaking my opinion and i don't appreciate getting banned because my opinion isn't the same as somebody else's. I've dissed these music artists music on their websites that i mentioned and like i said, i don't appreciate getting banned because of what i said. I can't help it that i think some of the music they've done has been wack. I'm not the one recording the music. They're the ones that are releasing the music to the public for us to judge so don't get upset when somebody doesn't like the music. Are people supposed to agree with everybody's opinion? I don't think so.

Charles, would you like to know why blacks like down on their own when they’re pursuing an education, speak well, well mannered, dress appropriate, etc? The reason why most blacks look down on the ones that are doing something with their lives is because it’s not common for African-Americans to be intelligent, well educated, good home training, respectful, etc. It’s all about what’s common, Charles.

If you look some races, like Whites, Indians, Africans, and the Chinese and Japanese, they are known to be intelligent, well mannered, and respectful people because they’re striving for perfection, unlike most African-Americans because it’s common for them to be stupid, submissive (mainly black males), ignorant, loud, non-well mannered, no home training, and the list of stereotypes continues. You have to understand the stereotypes in order to understand why African-Americans are the way they are, seriously.

African-Americans have been the hell and back, repeatedly. First, there was slavery, racial discrimination for over 100 years, no rights, the Tuskegee Experiment, AIDS, The Projects, and the list goes on and on. This is due to skin color and hair texture, NOTHING ELSE! Now, if they were not as dark and had straight hair, it would have been all good, seriously. But since whites feel that blacks are the most separated race from all other races, they had to look down on blacks to make themselves feel superior to blacks and make blacks feel that they are the inferior race because their physical looks. Most races (other than blacks) feel that blacks ARE the inferior race because they are known to be mentally weak, their looks, and all of the things I said in the second paragraph.

I remember watching a movie sometime back staring Denzel Washington. Well anyway, I caught the beginning or the middle of the movie where the character Denzel Washington was playing as a boy was in a classroom alone with his teacher. The teacher was telling the boy why he should not pursue an education because he’s black, he should pursue a life of hopeless, hard labor jobs, and weakness. The teacher said to the boy “You want to be a lawyer? Now, you are a nigger. Are you sure you want to be a lawyer? You can’t do that. Why, you’re a nigger. Most colors like to work with their hands. That would be a good job for you. Hard labor work…….that’s want niggers do best. You don’t want to be a lawyer because you can’t do it. You can’t do that. You understand?”

What that teacher said to that boy is STILL being told today to African Americans, but it a different way. It’s being told that THEY CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT DO IT BECAUSE THEY ARE A NIGGER OR A NIGGA! It’s being told to them in hip-hop. It’s being told to them on TV. It’s being told to them in public schools. It’s being told to them when they have conversations with their friends, parents, and even family. “Dawg, we niggas. They don’t want to see niggas in college and shit. So why bother? They don’t want to see us do good because we black, yo. Mothafuckas should leave that bullshit alone, yo.” This statement is being repeated throughout the ghettos and statements like this are why African Americans are so lost in this world.

Finally, it’s common that African-Americans are mentally weak, submissive (mainly black males), ignorant, stupid, no home training, out of wed-lock births, unemployment, no education, low self-esteem, etc. This is why so many stereotypes are being reinforced because of these major problems that they face on a daily basis. It’s common that blacks do make fun of the ones that are trying to improve their lives because they’re tired of the ghetto and they want a better life for themselves or their family. To the ones that aren’t mentally strong, they look at it as being an uncle tom or selling out because other races live that way. So, in order to be black, you must think, talk, dress, live, and act black by living the classic stereotypes of an African American, which is being a total loser living in the hood.

very very very good points. a lot of people dont really care about history or think it matters but its really the reason why everything is the way it is today.

and you touched on a point that i've always thought about but never brought up on this site. the whole topic of discussion about the word nigger and nigga has been had on here and african americans say well say they can use it because they are turning a negative word into an impowering word. Economic teachers (in my own experiences anyways) are so stuck on the ideas that keep the Whole from moving forward that they can't teach you anything in regards to moving things ahead, instead only the principles that perpetuate the system as it is. I realize the idea of a maximum wage goes against traditional capitalist thought ( and if theres is one it should be in the millions) but greed and laziness are the two of the biggest detriments to world progress, yet our system does nothing to try and curb human greed when it definetly seems like its needed.

capitalism inspires those traits. thats how you get ahead. if you do not act like that, someone else will and inturn take the food out of your mouth. without changing that, you cannot change capitalism.

straight up if minimum wages was raised that high, tons and tons of jobs would leave this country immediatly and go to asia or south america ect. where there is no minimum wage, or nothing even close to what they pay here. and those people would gladly work for a couple dollars a day. people in this country are spoiled. im not trying to demean anyone, but its the truth. we have the highest percentage or millionars and billionars and we see them all the time on tv, in magazines ect, and it distorts our perception of what life is really like for most of the world.

My first job was min. wage...I highly doubt that I would go back to that type of job as my main source of income. A 2nd job maybe. Anyway, my first job was a stepping stone. It gave me work experience, a check, and responsibilities...but it was a stepping stone.

Min. wage jobs in my opinion because I really don't know were designed to employ teenagers and not adults. Like I said, I could be wrong, however looking at it from a socioeconomic stand point, if I were designing a society those jobs would be for the younger generation to get them ready for that which is to come. They can learn to work, be responsible, budget and save and other things...

I would say, it's not the job and the wage that's causing financial hardships, it's the overall economy itself and the current social norms.

When women began to work (outside of their typical secretary or teaching job) it changed the dynamics of america's economy.

When there was no more slaver and share cropping, that changed the dynamics of america's economy.

I live in america, and I know that america does not have all of her people in mind when making decisions. Because of this, we have grown ass men and women with families doing all they can to provide however it's never enough to have a quality way of living.

It's not the wage that is the problem it's the dynamics of this country.

It seems like a good number of people actually buy cell phones....you can usually them for free, and if not free $50...a good investment to have...comes in handy. Now come on, everybody does not smoke bud, nor would I say most people are buying ringtones...again they'll get that for free. Now shoes, gotta buy the expensive shoes due to the quality. Don't neglect your feet people. Expensive clothes tend to last longer than cheap clothes. Quality vs. Quantity.

One reason why people in america can't do what people in other countries do is due to the standard of living here.

I don't know about anybody esle, I strive to have a good quality of life/living. I don't want to hunt for my food, I don't want to have to boil my water, I don't want to not have a television, I don't want to not have a computer......................how many people are leaving america to live some place in comparison to people leaving their country to come here?

Now, spending habits in america....horrible. This country flourishes off of debt on all levels. Now, people spend for different reasons...some spend to try and fit in, others spend because they don't think they'll see the next day to enjoy, some people spend to fill a void, others spend out of neccessity, etc. etc.

In my initial post, all I'm saying is that min. wage is not a bad or wrong wage to have. That's not the problem.

Those are just two examples...let's look at when women started to work and a wider variety of jobs. Look at women and labor during and after WW2.

I agree having a family who place emphasis on and encourage education helps, but plenty of those kids are dimwits. Alot are tutored several times a week to keep up with those marks and even then have trouble.

Being good with money does not necessarily mean you are intelligent, and vice versa. Infact I would place DISCIPLINE much more than intelligence as important in acquiring wealth (middle-class wealth).

The problem with our education system is there is so many ways for a person of very average intelligence to get a good mark. Tutoring, working for hours and hours and hours, better schools etc. When you look at these facts which I would say DEFINITELY contribute to marks more than natural intelligence you see that a persons school grades aren't necessarily a good indicator of intelligence even without any scaling. The fact the scaling is there is just to me a boost for people who spent more on education.

I believe the educational institutions of our society should be aimed at bringing about a high standard of academia, the marks shouldn't be in anyway bought.

you bet it changed the dynamics. slavery at the time was valued at about 2 billion dollars in 1860. it just disappeared for the south. that and some of the plans after that time are why the south is still generally considered behind the north.

but thats what raising the wage will do to this country in a way. the labor was free. so they could make lots of money off it. today the pay is minimum, if you raise that minimum to a maximum that is all money that is being lost by the companies and what not. they cant produce like they used to, they go out of business, or go to countries where they can pay cheap wages to maintains profits.
