It's all good, take your time. In the meanwhile, I will still contribute packages of 12"s and additions to packages I have already posted. As long as people don't dessert it, I will keep doin' tha damn thang.
Nice.
The only problem with things is that I don't know what people have, do not have, like, and dislike.
Do you know if Memoryman will post anything else here?
For those who had seen the motion picture Beat Street (June 1984), I know I need not explain this to you. For those who have not, I strongly recommend it.
During the film, two of the best songs featured were Afrika Bambaataa's Frantic Situation and Arthur Baker's Breaker's Revenge. For those who had seen it before, you may remember in the beginning where they were all breakin' and Tracy comes up to Lee and tells him how much she likes it (his breakin', of course). It was sometime around that period of the movie when Frantic Situation plays. Jazzy Jay came up sometime around there, too.
Later in the movie, Arthur Baker's Breaker's Revenge plays. I know people were breakin' to that as well. If I'm not mistaken, I think it is when the cops arrest them for breakin'...then Lee's mother comes in...but I'm not certain though. I cannot see and I only go by ear, so if anybody can give me a visual aid on the film that would help. And on top of that, I haven't gotten my DVD out in a while to confirm any of this.
After all that, here is my point. Both of those songs were released on 12" records in 1984. Here are two of the best 12" from that era straight from THA REAL O.G.. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Afrika Bambaataa -- 1984 -- Frantic Situation 12" (19.44 MB)
Arthur Baker -- 1984 -- Breaker's Revenge 12" (20.60 MB)
The B-Boys were an old school Bronx Hip-Hop group consisting of rappers Donald D and Brother B, alongside DJ Chuck Chillout. Donald D later moved west and worked with Ice-T, while Chuck Chillout went on to become a successful radio DJ. I am not sure what happened to Brother B.
Here is their 1983 12", Two, Three, Break. It is not as classic as the first two I posted, but it works.
The B-Boys -- 1983 -- Two, Three, Break (11.28 MB)
The only thing I know about D.W. and The Party Crew is that David E. Williams was one of the members, hence the "D.W." part of the name. They only released four or five 12" in 1985, one of which was one of hundreds of answer records to the "Roxanne Era" as I like to call it. It featured a female who goes by the name Roxy. So here is a package containing four of their 12" records, and possibly everything they have ever recorded or at least released.
D.W. and The Party Crew Package (51.42 MB) (includes Freaky Lover 12" (1985), Rappin' Roxy 12" (1985), Roxy (Roxanne's Sister) 12" (1985), Street Life 12" (1985))
First off, let me take you back to that real big Kurtis Blow package that I provided for y'all. I had no intention whatsoever of coming across any more of him because I was getting exhausted of GoldWaving all the Blow... However, I came across this today and had to get it. So here is yet another addition (my second addition) to the package. If you had downloaded any of the Kurtis Blow I had prepiusly posted, grab this and add it to your collection.
Kurtis Blow -- 1986 -- I'm Chillin' 12" (18.40 MB)
Grandmixer D. ST. (now known as DXT) was the one on Herbie Hancock's classic first ever Him-Hop/Jazz crossover Rockit. He got the D. ST. part of his name from D'Lancey Street in New York. (Don't be surprised if I spelled that wrong, I'm not from New York.)
Now, niggarros and niggahos, I bring to you his 1983 12" Crazy Cuts. Have fun...
Grandmixer D. ST. -- 1983 -- Crazy Cuts 12" (15.31 MB)
Cli-N-Tel (born Marquette Hawkins) was most famous for joining The World Class Wreckin' Cru in 1983. He made his departure in 1986 and made a highly regarded release that year. This release was titled 2030 (don't ask me why) and that is why I'm posting this bit of info about it. In 1993, he contributed to Dr. Dre's anthology album Concrete Roots: The Anthology.
Cli-N-Tel -- 1986 -- 2030 12" (19.45 MB)
Don't know if it's been posted before so I'll ask first, anyone want the hip-hop singles from 1985? I got this compilation that I came across a few weeks back, and thought that it would fit nicely here.
I wouldn't mind all the singles from '79, '80, '81, '82, '83, '84, and '85. But what the hell? Put up anything you have.
Here's Part 1, yes that's right part 1. Don't remember where I got them, but credit Ego Trip.

I'm not even gonna explain about Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. So if you wish to get some info before downloading this, click here for Breakin' (Friday 4 May 1984), and click here for Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo (Friday 21 December 1984). There is just too much to explain.
Yet again, another package worth downloading. This one includes both soundtracks from each movie respectively. I like to call this (as I probably should have) "Breaker's Delight".
Various Artists -- 1984 -- The Breakin' Package (82.35 MB) (includes Breakin': Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1984), Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1984))
I'mma post another package later. You'll just have to check back to see just what it is.
