I work with homeless youth and I know that stability is a key factor in young people getting out of their situation. I can also tell people that the greatest cause for youth homelessness is family breakdowns. In this day and age when divorce is so prevalent there seems to be a lot of young people that are shafted because their parent is more concerned about a relationship with their new partner than with their children.
In regards to some of the posts above, people that have a mental illness are as deserving of stable accommodation as any person. There are a lot of causal factors behind mental health problems. Sometimes it is solely related to a chemical imbalance from birth, sometimes its onset is caused by substance use and sometimes it is caused by years of severe sexual, physical or emotional abuse.
Pity the children out there that are currently suffering from sexual, physical and emotional abuse. It is always happening and the end product is sometimes a person who does not know how to feel and therefore turns to drugs, alcohol, self-harming, prostitution and other high risk behaviours.
Sometimes people see a person who is a drug addicted, homeless, prostitute and have utter contempt and disdain for that person. Try and comprehend the journey that the person has taken since they were a child.
I've never heard a child state that they want to be an addict, homeless or a prostitute. So the next time you see someone that is struggling imagine them as a child and reflect on how society has failed that child.
Pat Bateman, thanks for understanding my situation. I wish these other ignorant clowns on here understood what i'm talking about but they will never understand.
If you work 2 jobs that good for you. As long as you know how to save some of the money you're making and investing. If you are in with your folks, then there is no better time. You are there for no other purpose than to save your money.

Mic Tyson, i told you it's useless to talk to Black Man because he thinks white employers are supposed to give poor ignorant blacks a job just because they're black. Then when white employers reject poor ignorant blacks for a job, then the poor ignorant blacks wanna say they're being discriminated against when that's not the case. Trismegistos, i agree with what you said. Some people on here are very judgmental towards homeless people. People are judgmental in america and that's the way it's always gonna be. How can you judge homeless people when you don't know what they've been through for them to be in the situation they're in? People on here have been judgmental towards me when i talk about having a learning disability/mental problem. They act like i'm making this shit up. They act like i like living with my parents and having to work 2 jobs instead of one job. I'm talking about my problem because i want poor ignorant blacks to know that it's ok to be scared to talk about having a mental problem. They don't wanna believe that they have a mental problem but they do.
Black men who stand on the corner all day and stand in front of a liquor store and a gas station in the hood have a mental problem and the thing that's sad about it is they're scared to admit they have a mental problem. They're scared to go see a doctor to get evaluated so they can see what's wrong with them. Criminals are also afraid to admit they have a mental problem. I have a problem with the justice system who won't let these criminals get evaluated by a prison doctor because criminals need to be able to have somebody they can talk to about why they became a criminal. A lot of times criminals have nobody they can talk to about their problems and they need to know that it's ok to talk to a doctor or a psychiatrist. It doesn't make a man soft if you talk to a medical professional about your problems because sometimes criminals family members and friends don't understand what they're going through.

have you seen some homeless people breaking into a persons home
have you seen some homeless people target your community
have you seen some homeless people run scams
Yeah, we need to work with this homeless problem, alot of them need help 'cause their in the position of where they are so poor they would never be able to find a job without some sort of help. I remember fuckin' Kimbo Slice was homeless, made a living offfighting, although I don't think that's what got him off his feet, but those type of role models who started from the bottom and made it to the top need to help them out some way or another to help the homeless get motivated to better their lives more than their used to.
