NFL meetings today talks about going to an 18 game season am against that
Matt leinart demoted to back up behind Derrik anderson. in the interview he had after the game monday you could just her the defeat in his voice
ravens offense looking crazy .so meny guys to throw to and heap is looking the best he has in 3 year years
i see a lot of yard being thrown this year
will see when the games count
Ok so I'm gonna totally sound like a girl right now.....in normal people terms, what does a lockout mean? I've read it but it doesn't register.
a lockout is when the owners stop the players from plying, because they think they are getting payed too much this is going to happen in the nfl because they have no collective bargaining agreement after this season so their will be no salary cap and the owners dont want the nfl to get like MLB so they are going to simply lock the players out until they agree on a new deal which as it looks now won't be happening and if you think it's going to hurt the nfl teams well it wont because they teams will still make 5 billion due to the fact they still get paid from the networks no matter if their is a lockout, or not (the networks must feel like dumb asses for making that deal)
I don't think the players really want 18 games and I understand why
oh the nfl could use replacement players again lol
So the owners literally lock the players out in order that the players will take a pay cut..........so if the players don't agree, then the season won't happen? Well that sucks.........r u serious? So it will be all on the players............I mean if there isn't a season, then the players don't get paid............ugh
From the sounds of things, this will happen after this season.
Thanks for explaining that to me.
yes and no it is really on both sides to come to a fair deal like maybe change how contracts work, because the NFL is the only one of the 4 major American sports that does not have a guaranteed contract so when u see john doe signs a 5 year 44 million dollar deal well if he is cut because of injury, or what ever he does not get paid (that's also why guaranteed money is always a big thing in NFL contracts) also I think health insurance for after you retire is something they are working on. right now you only get five years coverage after you retire, but the effects of an NFL career are not shown until well after five years and they should copy other sports like MLB and cover for life
I think if a new deal is reached we will also see a change in the rookie contracts and I am all for it, because there is no way a rookie should be making more than a proven NFL player I mean sam braford makes more than tom brady that is just wrong
hectis with the knowledge!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks man.
I agree with the rookies..........u gotta earn that money.
The reason I had asked this question is cause someone asked Jay Glazer (love him) how likely a lockout would be and he answered very likely............oy
yeah it is going to happen:( am just hoping something happens to avoid this I mean it's one thing when it's baseball, hockey or basketball, but this is the NFL
that means their will be spots open for the simple joe's like me...ill take 250k a year to work half a year...even if that means ill be on bench...sounds like a dream job
lol starting QB for the ravens 100proof
lol will probably suck ..id rather run with the ball im pretty fast at 200lbs..5'10"
back in the high school days the fb coach was dying for me to join up after watching us play foot ball in gym ...no one could catch me not even the corners for are high school team...and i was 250 lbs at the time
matt leinart on trading block
I think im a broncos fan again. Yes, I said it.
Matt Leinart would be third string in the arena league.
Reggie Bush will become the first player ever to be stripped of their heisman. ha ha
why did u post that in the NFL section and not the NCAA football lol
Yeah, I was going to post it in the college section, but since he's been in the NFL for a while now. lol
He was tweeting the other day about how in March the players will no longer have health insurance and to avoid a lockout, the players need to take a 30% decrease in salary...........
Can't the players pay for their own health insurance though? I mean, most of them make millions of dollars. lol
That's what I said and he said actually alot of them don't make millions............and I said well even the lowest player makes more than me and I pay for myself and 2 kids............it was crickets after that.
Yeah, there was an article about how the practice players, that don't play in any games, make more than $5,000 a week for the minimum. So if the lowest paid players are making six digits a year, I think they can afford to pay for health insurance. lol I do feel bad in a way for the players if they do have to pay for the insurance themselves though, because they may only be able to have 14 cars instead of 15.
I mean b/c of the wear and tear on the body that comes with football, the NFL should provide them insurance..............but on the other hand, they chose to do this so..........
Yeah, I do think things such as the concussion stories are messed up, how some have tried to downplay injuries over the years as not being that serious.
Yeah me too. But I mean not many people get they insurance for free............
Vikings vs saints tmw
Oh wow. Have fun. Should be a good game.
I'm going to the Titans/Raiders game on Sunday too. Got tickets for my birthday from the ol lady. NFL TIME!!
Geez! She must really love u or wants u out the house so she doesn't have to deal with football. Ha.
Kidding
Are the Raiders still in the NFL?
I had a dream recently that the Texans beat the Colts in the opener. I also had a dream that Texas and Alabama met again in the BCS game. Texas wins 34-27 with the game ending with Texas picking off a pass on what was supposed to be a short dump off over the middle. You heard it here first. Its gonna be a great year for football.
