Sergio Martinez thought the fight was not so awesome, however Cotto on the other hand agrees with you.

So am hearing that Top Rank's top ranked man in charge Bob Arum, and Golden Boy Promotions head man in charge Oscar De La Hoya are going to start working together, and that could be a great thing for boxing, because of all the great fights we could see. I have to wonder though are they now working together, because Pretty Boy Money Mayweather has left Golden Boy, or is that just a coincidence?
So what boxing fight would you rather see: Cotto vs Canelo or Cotto vs Golovkin?
There was no doubt in my mind that Cotto was gonna win, he is back on his A-game, very impressive. I would like to see him fight Canelo Alvarez or GGG.
Another exciting fight I watched was this weekend, Provodnikov vs Algieri. After Algieri got knocked down 2x in the 1st & basically fought with 1 eye he came back to upset the champ in a split decision win. & a very deserved win imo, Algieri fought an exceptional fight & made me a fan of his. I was in complete awe when the judges agreed with me & gave Algieri the decision.
Andrade also fought on the same card & fought exceptionaly well.
I was going for Provodnikov. Dammit. I was fearing that the judges were counting the small punches against him. He needs to just pwer through it and do small jabs as well, which he didn't. Solid fight.
I hope he doesn't let deter his next few fights. Give em Rios. lol
I did not watch the fight, because I watched UFC 174, and that was a huge mistake.
Belgian Jean-Pierre 'Junior' Bauwens has taken the European lightweight title today from Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei.
Bauwens comes from a family with various autistic brothers and sisters. One of his autistic brothers stabbed his father to death because the old wanker was having an affair.
Only in Belgium.
Anyway, since no footage is available yet check out this arthouse outtake.
Evander Holyfield has retired from boxing, I wish him the best in his post boxing career.
I thought he was heavyweight champion of one of the belts?
Nope.
I remember he had won a belt a couple years back. Did he lose it or give the belt up?
It wasn't a major title.
So maybe he just kept it then? lol
It looks like there shall be a rematch between Maidana and Mayweather.
.Quote:
British boxing star Amir Khan was reportedly arrested after an incident where he allegedly injured two men following a confrontation in Heaton.
Miranda Newey of the Bolton News reports that neither of the victims were seriously hurt, with injuries to a cheek and a leg, according to police. They were apparently acquaintances of the boxer, although a direction connection was not established.
The report included comments from a witness:
Amir was saying don't you know who I am, I am AK.
We have always looked up to him as a role model with him being a Muslim and successful.
It is going to cause tension in the community. He is a world champion, an adult, the people involved are aged 19.
Sky Sports News provided an update on the situation:
No further details about the nature of the incident or the charges was provided.
Khan last fought in early May when he defeated Luis Collazo by unanimous decision to become the WBC Silver and WBA International Welterweight champion. It marked with third straight victory to bring his career record to 29-3.
He's been mentioned as a potential opponent for undefeated and current pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. It's too early to tell whether this situation will have any impact on the possibility of him landing that bout later this year or in 2015.
Once further details are released it should paint a clearer picture about how it will affect Khan moving forward. That said, putting himself in a position where this type of negative attention would result is a mistake to begin with, even if it only ends up being minor.
The Bolton News report notes Khan was previously arrested in 2006 after an accident that resulted in an injury to a pedestrian. He was fined and banned from driving for six months as a result.
