Charles Jones catch alot of shit and I can see why, if you break things down, why its easy to just brush him aside, but i think of it like this....
For all we know about galaxies and outer space, it is still too much for a single mind to grasp. And for everything we've learned about quantum mechanics, its too weird for a single mind to grasp also. So we have to look at things on our level and within our own reality, and that way we can more easily understand things.
For all the history and chain results of why things are the way they are...if your a historian, yes, you can see the correlation......but most people aren't, so they won't.
To see things on too small of a scale, like say, a narcissist would, than you will never be exposed to anything outside your shell.
A guy like Charles Jones is just relaying his own environmental reality. I dont think he is being narcissistic or self centered. I think he is very aware of whats going on in his community. Its good to kno history, and learn from it, but the past is not going anywhere and instead of trying to guilt someone into giving you someone, he is merely saying, GO OUT AND GET IT YOUR DAMN SELF. Stop portraying the stereotype.

The thing with CJ is that its so damn repetitive. He hasn't essentially said anything even close to new for atleast two years. Try a new angle or some shit, every thread not concerning music or movies (and sometimes women) boils down toFor him its just that cut and dry. The problem itself is so much more complicated and any real goal so much more difficult to acheive. Where's the acknowledgement in his own understanding that the world around those that he spends his time criticizing got a 400 year start in getting to where they were going? Where's the acknowledgment that those kids go to schools that draw from a substantially lower tax pool than the people he wants to compare them to? Where's the acceptance that the entire country's prison population has almost doubled since 1985 and that it directly relates to all the cocaine and crack the CIA was pushing onto the streets in the 80's? Where's the understanding that this often leaves a women at home who's rarely at home just cause she's gotta work two or three jobs just to make sure there is food on the table to feed her and her two-three kids? I could go on and on with what he apparently doesn't see. I just don't think that any of it's gonna get through. That's hardly the case, I know that self-determination is the ONLY way to take control of your own life, true no matter who or where you are. But history has been fucked up for blacks here in this country and the repercussions of that past carry on to this day. It manifest in many different ways (including what seems to be Charle's own self-hatred) and the trap of that situation can be hard to escape, though I think it'd happen alot quicker on a level playing field.
I know that's probably not gonna happen anytime soon so I just try to have compassion for those going through the struggle. The lack of which is why I deal with CJ the way I do, I don't have much compassion for those that have none for others.

I don't want him to see me with her because he'll be asking her why is she with me when she has a man.
I'm gonna tell her soon that i don't think we should see each other anymore until she's single because i don't wanna take the chance on one of her man's friends seeing us together in public because if he finds out from somebody that she was seen with me, then some shit is gonna go down between me and him and i'm trying to avoid a confrontation with him. I also don't wanna have sex with her because she could get pregnant and her man will be asking her who she been fucking.
