Great album, IMO 2nd best album of the last year behind Fishscale. Definitely worth buying. Although I have it dl-ed.
... quoting yourself....
Dangerdoom is not the same album as this. Dangerdoom is quite more mhiphop as this is more aiming ot a public appeal with the songs. This was just the better musical album. Cee-Lo knows how to bless the songs better than just MF Doom rapping.
people saying this should be in the hip hop section...why exactly?
I'd still call it hip-hop, why not?
Just saw that and was like "the fuck??" Fuck knows what happened, fuckin dumbass shit to do.
I know it's not the same album, peeps were just saying this should be in the hip-hop section when I agree it ain't hip-hop. Swear someone was talking about DangerDoom too, was agreeing with that - well fuckin trying to.
gnarls Barkley is the better mainstream album, yes, doesn't make it the better musical album (even then, Beethoven's albums are musically better then 36 Chambers, doesn't make them better). DangerDoom was one of the dopest releases in recent years, bumpin that shit for like a year now.. Played Gnarls Barkley for like a month.
Disagree, Gnarls Barkley over DangerDoom. And it ain't mainstream, if you listened to lyrics you'd know that it wasn't meant for mainstream audience. It's just an incredibly dope album, that's it, without a second of wasted space and incorporating mad lots of different styles.
And BTW Beethoven wasn't making no albums, you idiot.
You're telling me this album wasn't meant for mainstream with songs like "Crazy" and "Gone Daddy Gone"?? Don't get me wrong, doesn't make it better or worse.. it's just a fact. That shit was made for clubs and shit, not like R.A the rugged man, 36 chambers and shit.. get the point? also.. the lyrics mean SHIT to the mainstream audience, it's the beats and hooks that do..
Wanna call me an idiot? you're tellin me Beethoven ISN'T on albums? I suggest you wipe daddies cum outta your eyes and open your eyes, Beethoven is on loads of albums - how else do we know about the cunt?
lol at how worked up you get over opinion.. leave the net, son, you're living the shit not feelin it.
Wow, temper temper huh? Motherfucker listen to the lyrics! Crazy, Necromancer, oh shit, songs about madness and perversion are meant for mainstream audience huh? Yo, if you came here just to prove what a backpacker you are, betta back the fuck up and leave the forum to real listeners.
The album is a fucking artistic project. Cee-Lo and DangerDoom were exploring what are they capable to do together, are you too stupid to get it? If they managed to make a radio-friendly album - better for them. The point of album wasn't to be a big radio hit, I say it again, it was pushing the boundaries and making something original. Even if it means above standard rap.
What are you gonna say next, that Mouse is a sell-out cause his people listen to his music? You mean that only good prod is that which is commercially unsuccessful? Wake up, motherfucker, listen to music once without prejudices.
And about Beethoven - I always thought they didn't make no records in 19th century. Or am I wrong? Why on earth did he write notes for his music, cause he didn't have nothing better to do? Why didn't he copyright his music? Why didn't he put, for example, few of his works and brand it as album while he was still alive? Boy, you can't watch classical music as modern, it's two fucking different worlds, but it seems it's above your intellectual possibilites. Just shut up, OK?
Damn this thread turned into a general chat rant in the blink of an eye.
Ain't nothing wrong with mainstream. Ain't nothing wrong with addictive songs. Ain't nothing wrong with slick produced songs. Ain't nothing wrong with Gnarls Barkley but people trying to figure out who he is. Haha, he got you all burned arguing like hell will freeze over.
All said, Gnarls Barkley delivers the more solid musical album from Danger, only equated by Demon Days.
bakpackers hating anything "mainstream" lol
that song always on the radio was catchy to me
crazy, I think it was called
