No doubt son :)
I'm getting back into a Shenmue mood. Started playing part 2 again today. Gonna try to finish it, damn I forgot how long those damn games are.
i also remember reading that no more shenmue games will be produced
that would suck ass
the end of part 2 is off the hook
it was starting to get into some science fiction or some shit
plus
i wanted to see if they were gonna figure out a way to bring the girl from part 1 back somehow
the dude in the suit in part 1 was the man
Yea if yall need help getting past a part in Shenmue 1 or 2 then hit me up ill help.
haha, bring back nozomi. she in canada and tom too.
its crazy, all the myths they included. this game goes so intensily deep, its almost a black hole once you start reading.

Kikizo: Let's talk about Shenmue. Can you tell us anything about Shenmue Online - where will the story of the game proceed from where it left off in Shenmue 2? How will Shenmue Online fit into the core series?YS: Shenmue Online is still in development. I'm working hard on it - real busy! It's an MMO game for PCs. The original Shenmue had combat, so I'm hoping to focus more on the battle scenes. We also had a lot of events and minigames, which will carry over to Shenmue Online.

Remember how some of my old arcade games were in the previous Shenmue games? They'll be here, too. The player will be able to follow the Shenmue story through the game. It's not based on any existing Shenmue title. There are a lot of features in Shenmue that carry over well into an MMO game.MMOs have a community aspect, with guilds, fighting, trading, etc. Shenmue has a lot of these features already. The area to explore is also much bigger than previous games. Like in the original game, you can learn many fighting techniques while you play.

Kikizo: In the event Shenmue was never finished, would the possibility exist for the story to be finished trough other media, like DVD or books?YS: No, the story will be finished through games. The MMO will be a game that will have a long lifespan through upgrades and updates. This will allow gradual continuation to the story. It follows up directly to the story of Shenmue 2 at first, but maybe we'll move on even further as time passes.

"the story will be finished through games"We should clear up that there was one detail in the article last summer that we were mistaken about, which was the digression that Shenmue Online had been canned, based on then-recent reports to that effect, citing the apparent loss of interest in the project from its South Korean developer, JC Entertainment. Now of course, it's clear that the project is active.Officially Sega will not talk about a real Shenmue successor under any circumstances. Some stuff we've agreed with Sega can't be published, although there was nothing of massive significance to provide an absolute answer that some fans want - and we're not just being tantalising for the sake of it here, the point is that Sega really, really doesn't like talking about Shenmue at all.
But based on everything we know to be true at this moment in time - and aside from detail that has since changed - all of it was accurate. Which as we stressed heavily at the time, doesn't necessarily mean Shenmue 3 will come out, but it would be very foolish to write it off. Despite some presumptions made based on (at best) questionable translation of an interview in November, Yu Suzuki has NEVER said there would be no Shenmue 3. And as he puts it to us: "the story will be finished through games".It was a pleasure meeting with Suzuki-san again so he could share his thoughts with us.

Hi guys. I should point out that for the most part the expectations here for this interview were nothing to do with us, we just said we would have a Suzuki interview. I would like for people to enjoy this for what it is, which is a great interview with Yu Suzuki that provides an update on what he's doing now and looks at some cool stuff (he has a lot of fans here regardless of involvement with core Shenmue). But regarding the Shenmue 3 thing, we have done as much as we possible can right here, and I hope people will read my comments before and after the interview, very carefully. One other thing that I couldn't really add in the article is an answer of sorts: there's the credibility, "dude". http://shenmue.planets.gamespy.com/f.../icon_wink.gif

WHAT ABOUT SHENMUE 3????????????????? :(
You heard any rumours about it recently? shenmuedojo is still in my favs :D
Nothing lately. It's on hold somewhere till suzuki san goes again with the studio.
oyeah, I heard an AM-2 team is working on the Virtua Tennis 3 for PS3
Shenmue 3 like Rza's the Cure, will never come out :(
Well I finally re-copped a Dreamcast and now im playing Shenmue 1 again. Is it normal getting through disc 1 in like 6 hours? Im taking it easy now tho... want to savour Shenmue :point:
a lot of people hated this game because you ask around and dont fight most of the time. i dissagree, those fucks are dumbasses who never got far enough to witness more action. it is truely a good game, i mean 1 and 2. hearing about part three is very welcoming.
Theres more 2 the 2nd one, Im not sure which one I prefere now. Both are ill, but just because theres more shit 2 do in Shen 2, I prefere that one slightly. But there has to be a 3rd and 4th, they cant just leave us hanging like this. I remember how pissed off I was after the ending of the 1st one, I was fiending for the 2nd like crack.
We need Shenmue 3. PS3 please.
i know the second one was a good game but that's the only thing i can remember properly. And the fact that there isn't a save point until a couple of hours into the game, which kinda makes it hard when you play it before you go college in the morning like i did.
shenmue III will probably be 360 exclusive
U could have saved it about 5mins after you got off the boat, in the hostel at the harbour.
Yo Cant Beat That Intro On Part One ....Has To Be One Of The Illest Intros Ive Seen On Vidoes Games In Years......So Any News On #3 ....What5 About Shenmue Online?
Ive beat 1 and 2 so many times, I hope they still release that part 3. They keep debating on that too.

"The Top 10 Cult Classics of the 21st Century"
1. Shenmue
If you doubt Shenmue's right to top this list, try shouting "Shenmue 3 isn't coming!" in a crowd of gamers. When you wake up in your hospital bed, maybe you'll realize why this game has such a rabid following. Set in Japan in 1986, the story follows Ryo Hazuki, and showcases a unique blend of storytelling and combat. Especially interesting were the Quick Time Events (QTE) that worked timed button-press minigames into a variety of scenarios. It's kind of an RPG, kind of an action game, and has a riveting story that legions of fans are still patiently waiting to see concluded.
Good to see Shenmue getting the credit it deserves. I would put it at number 1 in my fav games of all time.
Shenmue >>> your mother

BBC Show VideoGaiden Starts Shenmue 3 Campaign
Quote:
The power of videoGaiden commands it! Rab and Ryan are at odds over Shenmue 3 (a game that never was). Expect a bloody campaign ahead...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/vid...bottom_431.gif
http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/vid...n/wide_top.gif OFFICIAL STATEMENT
"Ladies, Gentlemen, Barry Burtons… Rise and fight alongside us.
videoGaiden proudly presents THE SHENMUE 3 APPEAL, the ultimate campaign to force the games industry into finishing the glorious story that was started by Yu Suzuki all those years ago. With the influence of videoGaiden, the power of the British Broadcasting Corporation, and the collective multimedia might of gamers everywhere, how can we possibly fail?
What do we want? We want closure. We want Ryo Hazuki's story to be told to its end. We want to see ambition rewarded. We want a straight "Yes." No other answer will do.
We will fight the good fight. We will march on their buildings. We will sing songs of praise. We will write golden words that will lift the hearts of this increasingly cold industry. We will make them all say "Yes." We will make this industry do something for us.
We will bring about the promise of Shenmue 3 and it will be our finest moment.
Each week on videoGaiden we will be bringing you a report straight from the Campaign Room. Each week we will take the fight that bit further. You will be our global soldiers, our videoGaiden Shenmarines.
And we will be asking much of you.
The uprising begins on the 5th of November 2006. Failure is not an option."
Rab Florence
COUNTER STATEMENT
"Clear thinking gamers of the world. Your time has come to make a global stand for truth.
Which truth? The truth that Shenmue is the most overrated series in video games history. We know this and so do you.
However, brothers and sisters, there are some still among us that are convinced otherwise. They tell themselves they "love" Shenmue. They use words like "innovative" and "emotional" to describe these games. Some of these deluded fools are even convinced that today, in the year 2006, a Shenmue 3 release is still a possibility!
These people are a sickness and need our help. They need your help.
videoGaiden will become base camp for the most significant public service the BBC has ever performed. The suppression of Shenmue 3 propaganda and the reprogramming of Shenmue addicts.
With truth we will dissolve the smoke screen of Shenmue.
In the coming weeks you must be ready to spread the truth. On every street, in every house, every office building, you must say and wear and be the truth for those that live without it.
We at videoGaiden will collate all data concerning our progress and will feedback to you each week via our campaign base.
The truth is ours to share my friends. Let them know of it and let them be happy.
Suppression and Re-education begins on the 5th of November 2006."
