guys, the list posted is all that went gold or platinum, if you don't believe me, go to www.riaa.com and check for yourself. and it took 2 months for ob4cl to go gold, you can check that there too.
and there is no way to know exactly how many units were sold back in 1995. soundscan wasn't around until i think 97 or 98. back when cuban linx dropped, they judged record sales on how many units were shipped from the label. now with soundscan they judge how many albums are sold by certain stores sales....they take those numbers and have a formula for an estimated number of units sold. it's run by neilson, the same people who do the ratings for t.v. shows. it's just like how they figure out the ratings. they take a sample population, figure out what they are watching, then multiply it by the number of people living in the u.s.
yes it did, its a fuckin fact bro, read that shit in mad mags and seen it on digi cable rap station info bar bullshit too.Quote:

Ironman, Supreme Cliental, OB4CL, Immobrality, Tical, Tical2000, 36Chambers the Dirty Version, Liquid Swords, Beneath The Surfce, Both Bobby Albums, The Pillage, Heavy Mental and 6Feet Deep should all have gone Platinum IMO. Of course all 4 Group albums too.
Didn't Tical & Tical 2000 go platinum?Quote:

Heavy Mental Shipped Like 400thousand And It Did Go Gold
Also Riaa Is Wrong About Alot Of Shit
So Check Ur Shit Buddy
Deck Went Gold
And Nigga Please Went Platinum
gold = 500,000 in U.S., so it cant have gone gold if it only did 400,000.Quote:

so according to this list, cappa is the only wu fam with a plaque (even tho some consider him the unofficial 10th member of the clan) does anyone know who out of the other wu fam came close to hitting the gold mark? G, do u have any info on that?Quote:

liquid swords sold 900,000
gza even says it himself in that interview he did about grandmasters.
Okay, I know that 6 feetdeep went gold
but RIAA won't display anything on gravediggaz..
wtf
What do you people use for checking album sales?
SOUNDSCAN IS WAY MORE LEGIT THEN RIAAAQuote:

you are correct, soundscan doesn't count all stores, but soundscan wasn't around in 1995 when cuban linx dropped. riaa counts units shipped. and if there were only let's say 800,000 units shipped total over the life in cuban linx, then it could not have sold 1 million to go platinum. on the other hand, it might not even have sold 500,000 to go gold. those other units could still be sitting on store shelves (although that is unlikely in this case.Quote:
