I was bumpin some Sophisticated Movement right before I saw the news. Actually went on facebook to see if he had posted anything new. Didn't know him personally but he was always so nice to chat with back and forth. When he was down in St. Pete over the summer he invited me to come kick it, wish I would've taken him up on the offer.

hard to believe it's already been a year
One year ago (December 23, 2014) we lost a well respected and influential brother by the name of Kevlaar 7. Instead of mourning his death, we celebrate his life and influence. This is a collection of collaborations we had a chance to be apart of alongside Kevlaar. Kev looked out for us and always showed us love. So in return, any and all earnings from this project we'll be solely given to the family of Kevlaar 7. Enjoy the tracks which you may or may not have heard because we enjoyed creating them. he remains incredibly underrated.... as a lyricist he gave us so much to chew on yet I don't see any of the so called rap critics dissecting his work
and of course he was a talented producer on top of that
I've been in Staten Isle with my family for the holidays... over the weekend I was at a friend's house in Rosebank a few blocks away from Park Hill, we were chillin in his basement blasting sounds. I showed him basically Kevlaar 7's entire solo catalogue and he was completely blown away. He was trying to figure out how the hell he had never heard of him. Now of course he wants to hear everything Kev ever made.
I later realized it was all fitting since that was the early hours of Dec 23rd, 2 years to the day Kev had passed.
