Whats up with the timeouts again?
one of those months where every expensive mishap possible happens. Really aggravating
^^Everything that would need to be repaired, will cost you. Vehicles, phones, computers, home.,etc.. You need a hook up for all unfortunately.
What is the scariest thing to ever happen to you?
Noels gay dog story reminded me of when I was walking home from school around age 12/13 and a neighbor's dog from down the block got off its leash and chased me. Somehow I got home unscathed, I would imagine that fear must have triggered my adrenaline to get away. Not sure what kind of dog it was, but that thing was mean and could of done some serious damage.
Police chase in Germany (twice).
Police arrest in Belgium.
Court case.
Possible HIV scare.
I get on fabulously with dogs though.
anonymity. the mass uptake of social media resulted in the distinction between online and offline identity, blurring.
online communication, in the era of widespread internet anonymity, was novel because it dispensed with the identity baggage that mediates and informs real life interactions. this allowed for people to engage with people whom they normally couldn't, in a manner they normally couldn't.
this site is a testament to the fact that this, in and of itself, isn't necessarily a productive or constructive thing, but the potential created by that separation is what made online communication interesting.
the dissolution of the divide between online and offline identity has, without wanting to be too dramatic about it, made socialising in both spheres worse in some ways.
maybe i just feel like this as someone who experienced growing up both with and without the internet and eventually social media - my views are probably a bit warped by nostalgia for pre-internet and early-internet life.
I couldn't imagine what dumb shit I would have put on social media as a teen if it was around then. I feel the nostalgia for pre internet days also.
What I liked about the "old" internet was the innocence of it, for lack of a better term.
Maybe it's because I was young but the "internet" wasn't as important as it is now and I basically only ever used to go to chat rooms on msn, talk on msn with buddies to organise something or download porn/mp3s.
Your whole life was not right there on the computer or phone and the clear separation between the internet and real life was there. It was an attraction and fascinating, nothing more really.
There's no way a 21 year old would believe me if I told them back when I was first getting "the internet" at home in 1999 we were getting it on a cd-rom with like 30 hours of internet time that cut off every 5 hours.
I agree with what bateman said about anonymity which also brought about a genuine response from people, even if they just talked about raping your mother and how you're a faggot, people were unfiltered and unafraid to speak what was on their mind or what was the first thing to come to their mind but now in the social media and censorship era this obvious hivemind that exists on places like twitter and reddit as the worst offenders just makes discussions on most topics problematic and not even worth it. I left both of those social media platforms long ago and don't miss it even though around 2009-2013 twitter was amazing.
This place is like a time machine for me, there's always a sense of nostalgia when I visit here. It's a shame the forum pre-crash in 2005 is gone there's been so many characters on this forum over the years it's crazy to think throughout the entire history it's about 20 years old.
^ Did you see that guy that was posting a few weeks ago, calling everyone names and claiming to be a “Wu-Tang member”. Lol.
This that guy who wanted people to put him on Wikipedia? Lmao that shit was honestly great but I swear I was getting some wu corp flashbacks that we have been down that road before with someone claiming to be official Wu-Tang Clan and linking some random discogs page as proof they were a producer and had someone like 4th disciple stealing their beats. Maybe 2-3 years ago?
I’m not talking about raaddrr vaaan or that little midget either but I am positive that dude the other day has done this before, maybe graveyard shifter or Hal remembers
They were two different people. The guy you're talking about I think was selling bootleg Killa Beez compilation CDs claiming to have produced the tracks. Possibly he went by the name DJ Swarm (he had many aliases). Gravey might remember better.
That Corleone dude was even more out there lel
Yeah this cunt below I think

lmao €200 for some bootleg ish. There's a sucker born every minute.
What is your first memory? This is topic that interests me. I recall meeting some extended family members around the age of 3.5.
Its called childhood amnesia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Childhood_amnesia
To me it feels like at some point my memories become memories of memories. Theres just something that doesn't feel real about my earlier memories, probably everything up to my early 20s feels like that.
My first memory is from the age of 5 or so. I am running around the house after having seen my mom take the dosage for the syringe out of the fridge. (daily or perhaps weekly shot for asthma). The cover of the box with the dosages is cardboard, rectangular and colored grey and red. My mom always says she's amazed at how well I remember the box. Pure fear lol. I always try to duck the shot.
All of my next few memories are from age six when I'm living away from the family on the coast, in a convalescence center for minors who have asthma and other pulmonary diseases. I remember school there, the hospital, the pet farm, the pitches (we played kid's hockey all the time) - all of these were on site, it was a huge facility.
I remember one of the people who helped out there having no lower arms (yep) and I also remember that one day a kid wasn't there anymore because he'd died. I remember learning my first few words of French , I remember the little costumes they had for us. And the dormitories where we had to sleep on those big ass blue sports mats they normally use for the landing in high jumping or whatever it's called in English.
Strangely, I have close to zero memories from before the syringe and the same goes for the first year back home after the convalescence resort.

in case you're wondering just how big the resort was
they send people away with asthma to detention camps there? what kind of a commie run place is going on there . in the usa that's where troublemakers and other delinquents get sent.

Now they get the obese crowd there too. IDK if they have a foreign exchange program going for fatsos but I can ask around, bee-rock.

I don't get what the bots do. Whats the benefit of making 100 different Bogdan accounts.
@Hound
most (probably all) of the b'day user names are legit, IDK for instance if you remember T4R1K from back in the day? often these are people who only ever made a few posts
the Marina & Bogdan names are examples of bot groups signing up automatically in large batches. they get put in a temporary group (this is true for all new members, the legit ones too) and then they get vetted by admin. only the ones who don't seem to be bots get the pass and can actually post
it's when new users have names that look legit (we had an Elon Musk earlier this week) we assumed was either a real new user or a new secondary account (because of the ET Musk buys Twitter thread in Gen Chat) that we get it wrong and accidentally wave a bot through
it would seem like the most advanced bots make user names now based on actual forum content (wu like user names, the Musk account). this was not the case before
in extremely rare cases we get a bot who is still awaiting vetting - the bot is in the temp group where it can't post - and somehow it still bypasses our system and starts posting without admin having approved the account. we have no idea how this is possible
sorry for the long winded and boring explanation lol
@Sha
I think it's an automated bot process where the rationale is the larger the group that is created, the better the odds are that at least one gets through/gets approved. good for us because this makes it easier to spot the fake accounts since tgey basically have the same name
