You keep going on about "the life the west has to offer including women in bikinis" when in actual fact these people just want to live you know a life without fear of being executed for no reason by the taliban
TaliBANG are sure going out of their way to calm down everybody in the national and international press saying women and girls can still attend school incl. uni and get jobs in education and health care, soldiers and civilians supporting the previous government get amnesty and the media are still allowed to report.
Sounds like window dressing. Seems like they don't want to have other countries breathing down their neck for a while as they tighten their grip on the nation.
Question. Do the media in your countries (US, UK, Australia etc) currently publish interviews w/ Affghan civilians? Down here the press is flooding us with them. What these people are saying does not correspond with wat the TaliBANG are saying. Interpreters for foreign countries getting shot or their houses getting burned down etc. Sounds like this amnesty thing isn't going down just yet.
I agree with the opinion that nations can't just implement their way of life in other countries. On the other hand, a lot of civilians just seem to want OUT right now.
Ideally TaliBANG should provide safe passage for whoever wants to opt out (visa for international travel) but honestly what nations are going to take in loads of Afghans. The EU is already showing concerns of a reprise of the 2015 immigrant crisis. They're gonna complain about the TaliBANG on the international stage and keep their borders closed at the same time.

Unbelievable. 20 of fighting for what? 20 years of lives lost, soldiers wounded (limbs blown off), terrorists attacked numerous cities, extreme terrorism, trillions spent, and the list goes on. In a way, people cannot point the finger at the US this time. We provided the Afghans with what they needed in order to defend for themselves. The US provides Afghan with millions in funds, weapons, goods, etc. Today, the Taliban took over the Afghan's military weapons that the US provided.
The way that I see it, the Afghans were tired of fighting the Taliban. They gave up and allowed the Taliban to take over. The US cannot always come to the rescue and it's not the US job to make the Afghan government to fight for themselves. Then again, Biden made a public announcement that the US is withdrawing from the country, an announcement that should've been kept on the low.
Listen, the US shouldn't send thousands of troops, dispatch drones, spend billions of dollars for a war that we've fighting since 2001. Biden is doing the right thing. Let them have that country and then allow the UN to develop a solution to deal with them. This isn't the US responsibility anymore.

I’m assuming Afghanistan will be like North Korea, that is, harm their own people and leave the rest of the world alone. I never considered Afghanistan a threat to the U.S. anyway. Sad to say, but people usually turn a blind eye when you’re killing your own people, so people will eventually tune out Afghanistan and view it as a “failed state.” Of course, I hope they can regain their strength and free themselves, and I do feel bad for its citizens.
The Islamic Golden Age (750-1258) was a beautiful thing, but the Middle East is sadly far from that now. If only Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain used their riches for good.
