Ghostface - The Pretty Toney Album

Pretty Toney ** is ** near classic & I bumped it three times in a row riding around Shaolin this morning. It might be a New York thing, might be age... Ghost drops so much personal shit & knowledge here but it's ** ADULT **, not like XXX adult tho' Ghost is good for that too... Anyone not feeling this, come back in 10-15 years & listen again, you might hear shit differen. I'm not Sonnin' but Pretty Toney is near the goddamn top of its kind and almost nobody in hip-hop pushed the language, & the real details, feelings of adult hip-hop life as hard as Ghost, who's funny as shit too... what the hell, let's call it a CLASSIC-- leaves me wanting more & thankfully there is.

i dont understand how some of you idiots can give this album anything higher than a 3.5 or say that it's average then give it a score of 4.5 like what the fuck are retarded?

if this album is a 4.5 what in the fuck is supreme clientele or ironman? like a 9/5? what about 36 chambers? 20/5

please...get off ghost's dick, he's my favorite artist but at least i can recognize that he can do bad sometimes

two classics lie on this album...holla and run, those two tracks immediately puts p. tone album up there, but not nearly as close as ironman

man this shit is ill, to me this is ghosts 3rd best album(under ironman and supreme) but i wud put this over fishcale and more fish ne day as well as bulletproof.
im just listenin to this album again and shit tracks like Run, Metal Lungies, Holla, Biscuits, and Ghostface are all ill. Anyone else feelin this album more then others, cuz ive noticed its usually on the bottom of peoples lists.

It's a good album. Most of all, all of ghosts albums are banging.

Love this album. I like all of Ghost's albums but yeah this one is underrated IMO. I like it more than More Fish and BPW.

Like the feel of the production...just really feels...I dunno, somethin vintage about it. Be This Way, Holla, Biscuits, Save Me Dear, Beat The Clock, Metal Lungies, It's Over, Run, and Tooken Back (imo) is tight too.

I even like Ghostface, the chorus is stupid as fuck, but the verses are nice. And that Last Night skit is dope too lmao, Ghost's flow is ill on that shit.

i don't know where all the hate is coming from when it comes down to this album.
it's not his best, not by far, but still better than most of whatever records were released that year

pretty tony was the last great album from ghostface.

This album has grown on me, in my previous posts I said it was kinda average but now I'll rate it a 4/5.

first of all, Be This Way is straight up beautiful. Biscuits is crazy, made me feel Trife, and Run is absolutely crazy, but the real stand out joint is Holla (i've always been a huge delfonics fan). no one has ever done anything like that before. rapping over a song, not even a sample, that shit was dope. 8/10. equal to bulletproof

Hard for me to understand why folks dont like this one...

Tush was one of the only songs I didnt like at first but even that one grew on me over time...I love the beat on that one...that off snap that drops in and out. Love is probably the only one I ever skip past but I still like it all in all.

I love Pretty Toney. Very soulful album and also touches on classic wu with joints like "run", "metal lungies" and "be this way". My favorite track, probably of all time for Ghostface, is "Holla", I dont think anyone has ever rapped over an entire soul song like he did over Delfonic's "LaLaLa". The only weak song on this album is "Ghostface", just a wack and cheesy song, filler material. Overall, 9/10.

I think ive judged this album unfairly in the past, theres only 3 or 4 tracks that suck and the rest is fire, stuff like run, metal lungies, holla etc is straightup classic.

Pretty Toney is a decent album though. Run is the best track Ghostface ever did...

one word (well, two): "It's Over." I've spent the last three days working (driving) all over Shaolin & this album KILLS front to back, serious "Fly Kunta Shit." it does speak to some older dude stuff but ya'll will get there too.

i still think its his worst album though, bulletproof wallets definetly beats this.

Ironman better

Definitely a solid album from Ghost but still one of his worst, there are a few classic tracks, a couple bangers and some weak/average shit as well. It doesn't really flow together well as an album either, there seems to be a lack in structure plus the skits are weak. I'll throw in a track-by-track review too:
