Their best album in my opinion
easily the best Outkast album and one of the best hip-hop albums ever created. it's so atmospheric, real funny and clever but real reflective at times. the last Outkast album where Oranized Noize was doing most of the production.
"Growing Old (The 13th Floor)" might be top-10 songs of all time.
Classic 10/10. Man the production and lyrics on this album are flawless. I like the gritty and atmospheric feel to this album. Favourite songs Elevators and E.T
Not a big Outkast fan but this album is dope as hell. Classic.
10/10, the Southside Illmatic.
Just getting into this. The lyrics are straight fire and along with the production this is at least a 9/10 album. Damn great! Big Boi stepped his game up on this one.
Didn't like Atliens except Elevators(this beat is banging)and Ova Da Woodz. I was listening to their greatest hits cd last night and i listened to Elevators. Love the beat on Elevators. I also listened to their collabo song with Mystikal called Neck Ov Da Woods on The Wood soundtrack last night. I like that song and the beat. Atliens is when Andre started acting weird wearing gay clothes LOL. I remember when i saw Elevators video and i saw what Andre was wearing and i shook my head.
So whats your fav Outkast album?^
Southernplayalisticaddilacmusik. Andre was normal then and i like the hat he wore on the album cover. I also like their Mamacita song on Aquemini album. That beat is hard.
Aliens dropped twenty years ago today. Spaced out funk classic.
8/10 i think
southernplayalistik is a easy 10
oh shit, i still have my comic book that came with the cd...
do they still do those ?
anyone want to buy it? lol
Damn 20 years ago. It's crazy that all the classics are now either entering their 20th year or already 20 years old, where does the time go?
This is their best album IMO gonna spin the wax today for the anniversary
Yeah right Atliens is their best album hahahahahahahahahahaha. Their first album is the best.
^^ exactly.
CJ has good ears.
ATLiens is for people with an IQ above 77
Yeah right. Fuck that wack album hahahahahahahahahahaha. Atliens and Ova Da Woodz are the only songs on the album I like.
My bad I don't like Atliens song. I like Elevators song and this album is when Andre started acting weird LOL. Fuck his ex-girlfriend Erykah Badu for turning him and Common into weirdos hahahahahahahahaha. She had Common wearing gay clothes in Come Close video with Mary J Blige LOL.
Honestly, what don't you like about the album? I don't get it. Just the beats?
Yes the beats sucked. Aquemini album is better than Atliens.
ahaha, you're opinions always catch me off guard cj, but by now they shouldn't.
i really don't know how you can hate the beats on ATLiens and like those on Aquemini... but, yeah... i never thought of this as the album Outkast started experimenting more, but on reflection, i can appreciate what you're saying i guess, it sort of had a subdued sound throughout.
but, a decade after i made this thread, it's still one of the few rap albums i can listen to all the way through and enjoy all of it... personal classic.
southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was grimey
Atliens was near classic. There's a few tracks I skip sometimes though.
I like Aquemini even more. Front to end I can play and enjoy this whole album. Da art of storytelling with slick rick? Damn.
Stankonia was a disappointment. But anything following Aquemini was going to be.
Speakerboxx/Love Below I tuned out and stopped listening. Wack.
Aquemini and Atliens are the two best Outkast albums and I'm a huge Outkast fan and there's countless singles I like by them. I try to like Big Boi's newer stuff but can't. And I don't even check for Andre 3000 anymore.
Atliens dropped twenty five years ago today. Thank You to everybody that booed OutKast at Source awards and made them go back in the studio and record this classic.
Album never gets old. Incredible songs. They covered some difficult topics here, and on later albums. Most rappers wouldn't know where to begin with that stuff.
It's insightful, reflective and poignant. The production is also very classy and understated, another rare trait in Hip Hop.
There is a video game releasing to commerate it.
