by the dawns early light: ISLAM - about denver nuggets player CHRIS JACKSON formely known today as "Mahmoud Abdul Rauf," was suspended for a game due to not standing for the national anthem, again this is an attack on Muslims and the Black community, there are many Jehovah's witnesses NBA players that also dont stand for the anthem but they dont get suspended, unfortunately Rauf could not get back into the NBA and now plays in professional European leagues.

Quote:
Gang life is disassembled by its very members in Slob 187/Crab 187. "Slob" and "Crab" are both slang insults aimed at the infamous Los Angeles associations, the Crips and the Bloods. "187" refers to California police code for homicide. In this shaky documentary, real-life thugs talk about the struggles and rewards of modern-day warfare. Gang affiliations include the Crenshaw Mafia, Denver Lane, the Rollin' 60s, and the Shotgun Crips. Boasting a membership of a few thousand, the Los Angeles-area groups define suburban life for many young people. Everyday violence is further glamorized by popular music and television. Slob 187/Crab 187 takes an unblinking look at the inner workings of gang hierarchy. Featured players are Mack 10, Big S Ghost, and OG Chinaman. This documentary captures an often sad, often shocking image of life in South Central..

This thread is phenomenal... I had no idea so many Wu-Headz here were into documentaries as much as myself. I got a documentary that everyone should watch if they haven't already... This one starts out pretty slow but after about 14 minutes it gets really good, you will be thankful you had the patience to sit through it from beginning to end... It is divided into three parts Religion, 9/11, and the third part is probably the most complex of all the issues, it really gives an alarming perspective of where we are headed. Even if you disagree with this film, it is so important that you should watch it from beginning to end, and then do the knowledge if you care enough to form your own opinion. If you want to research these issues after watching the film go to the bottom of the site and click on the Interactive Transcript for all the sources, etc. I hope everyone here gives this a view...

"Garden"
Nino and Dudu lead the narrative of the film. They met in 2002 in a street fight. They fought on opposing sides. On that day, Dudu and Nino almost killed each other, but something clicked, and they became friends. In fact, soon they became blood brothers. Their friendship helped them overcome many difficulties: Nino is a Palestinian kid who escaped the Palestinian jail after being sentenced to death for collaborating with Israel. And Dudu follows Nino loyally, even at the price of getting caught during a robbery and dealing drugs during Nino's three months prison term. Dudu stands by his friend all along his attempts to run away and during the latter's disheartening court trial.
Nino and Dudu take us through a journey of survival and close friendship on the streets of Tel-Aviv. As they try to keep sane, we watch them develop insight into their situation. They try to accept who they are while trying to improve their lot in life, all the while fighting the police, getting beaten, being thrown to jail, dealing with the clients and trying to maneuver the Israeli "system".

Teens Hooked on Porn
"This film examines the disturbing reality of teenagers who have become hooked on internet pornography. One 16 year old from Bristol has looked at porn online since the age of 13 and it has almost overtaken his life. We follow his progress as he seeks therapy and tries to overcome his addiction. We also meet other younger children who look at porn, some brazenly and others for whom it's a secret obsession."

"This program provides a detailed and unique look into the qualities, both physical and philosophical, that drove Bruce Lee to international stardom. This film pieces together rare early footage of Bruce practising and teaching his own form of martial arts, Jeet Kun Do, and explains the power held within the 'one inch' punch, together with in-depth interviews with the people that knew and worked with Lee."

Tupac Shakur: Before I Wake... (2001)
"Before I Wake is unique in that it is the only known documentary that chronicles the last year of Tupac Shakur's life as seen through the eyes of the one person that was closest to him, his bodyguard, Frank Alexander. For the first time see intimate details, including behind the scenes studio footage of Tupac creating some of his most innovative music. Then you actually go to the place where Tupac was shot in Las Vegas and speak with investigators still trying to solve his murder. It has actual interview footage and never seen before studio footage of Tupac Shakur. Also interview footage of Eric 'Eazy E' Wright, Russell Simmon, Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr, Cathy Scott, the Las Vegas Reporter, and the main Las Vegas Detective on the cast, Detective Becker."

Style Wars:
http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/style_wars.php
Style Wars (1983)
"When director Tony Silver and co-producer Henry Chalfant delivered the broadcast version of their prize-winning film to PBS in 1983, the world received its first full immersion in the phenomenon that had taken over New York City. The urban landscape was physically transformed by graffiti artists who invented a new visual language to express both their individuality, and the voice of their community. In STYLE WARS, New York's ramshackle subway system is their public playground, battleground, and spectacular artistic canvas. As MC's, DJ's and B-boys rock the city with new sounds and new moves, we see street corner breakdance battles turn into performance art."

Louis Theroux's African Hunting Holiday
Louis Theroux's African Hunting Holiday: Louis visits several privately owned reserves in South Africa where American tourists pay to hunt wild animals. He talks to an American couple of which the husband considers the hunting trip a dream and to the owners of the reserves who explain Louis that some species would be already extinct if it wasn't for the game reserves. Louis also accompanies some hunters and considers trying to kill an animal himself. He also wonders if it's not a rather artificial hunt, considering the animals are in a, very large, cage and the holiday hunters are being driven to the place where the animals can be found.
