some of us say it too much in here... theres more to hip-hop then wu-tang. wu-tang just happens to be legends in the game and the greatest group in hip-hop... but "in stereo" is honestly what made a lot of the people i know stop listening to wu-tang. most hip-hop listeners that don't hold wu-tang as this almighty group think the album is whack... and even some of us who have always loved that record can fully understand why people feel that way
yo 11th, first off return is a classic. i just listened to that shit on the ride home from work last night. that albums takes me back to my chilhood cause my uncle kept that shit on repeat.... but i really wanted to make a statement about your sig cause i think em is garbage... in 2001 NAS - stillmatic and AZ- aziatic dropped. both of those records are bananas and hold more weight then any verse by em. if you're gonna tell me you dig Em more then nas and az i feel bad for you, you were lead down the wrong path
Return might not have BEEN a classic but in my eyes it is NOW.
Damn your freaking crazy, that damn album was off the hook. I remember the 1st time I heard Black Widow, I lost my mind. Airwaves, I was like damn this nigga is dope as fuck. IT was because of this album he became my fav out the clan. Love Jones is mad smooth, I act out the lyrics sometimes for chicks. NYC everything I admit had to grow on me, I love it now. Fuck what u think and Daily routine alone make this album dope.
Personally I attribute Rae's second joint, as the beginning of the end. Immobalirty is arguably one of if not the worst follow up to a classic album ever
Wu-Classic, Yes.
In stereo 9/10 When wu tang were kings... One of my favourites of all time. Mantis is a 10/10 track
Digital Bullet: 8/10 Stuffed with too much filler but the good tracks are great
Digi Snacks: 6/10 Couple of very good tracks, a handful of listenable ones and the rest wack. Not a great album
For the sake of argument, My favourite album ever is: Ironman
Yet my favourite MC is GZA
Although Ironman & LS are both 10/10
some banger songs on there but not a classic. too much stuff i dont listen to on there.
Sorry Wera, dont agree with Immobilarity. I think that album is wack as fuck bar a few tracks like "Sneakers" and "The Table". There was a few average tracks like "Casablanca", but the beats were just poor imatations of the sound on CL.
Rae was actually really dope throughout, but the beats fuckin SUCKED. Like "Fuck Them". Really, did Rae sit down and listen to that instrumental and go, "Shit thats one dope ass beat, i think imma get Method Man to jump on it too, its that dope", NOOOOO its an absolutly pathetic, TERRIBLE excuse for a beat, wtf was that fat cunt thinkin, damn, nigga needs to clean out his ears.
^why are you saying sorry for disagreeing?
In Stereo was a innovative sounding album. Those type beats werent dont before hand.
Very influential, like everything RZA did in the 90's.
^Dont know actually
Ya "In Stereo" was definitly different, but i still dont think all of the beats work that well. It might just be something small, but some of them dont do it for me.
Production wise i think "8 Diagrams" is stronger. Im only comparing them, because both albums were supposed to be experimental and different, and people comlaining about the beats on "8 Diagrams" been too far from the wu sound and loving "In Stereo" should remember that when In Stereo came out that wasnt like the wu sound at all, and i think it was hated on quite a bt when it came out, but now people say it has got the wu sound. people have a clouded memory sometimes.
Also I was thinking recently about how RZA was ahead of time with the whole digital thing. The 21st Ctry marked the true start of the digital age to move away from analog, he used this well as a sort of gimmick, but it was clever still in a street geek type of way. This was when digital wave signals, digital music production, and digital control was taking over.
So basically fuck you analogs he was ahead of his time in his thinking as usual.
C L A S S I C ahead of its time. I still bump that shit weekly.
I agree with thread starter, ive been saying this for too long, one of my fav albums of all time
yeah it's defo a classic to me too.
terrible album minus 2 or 3 songs.
I actually got rid of this yeserday along with digital bullet an BOAP and got MOP- Warriorz.
classic fucking album...
