I think it def not overated. it is a classic album. It might not be on the same level as LS, obcl but it is a classic and the concept is totally diff.

Method Man (Remix) - 10/10 this remix is acutally alright for me.
at first listen, i thought this album "ok". after a couple weeks it all came together for me and it sounded great. a lot of Wu shit has that effect[affect wutever] on me. classic on my top 10 all time.
i held off from listening to this album until i bought it today. for some reason i thought itd be boring, but the production is different, and great. and meth is nuts. classic no doubt.

I dont know how anyone can shit on this album, or not call it a classic. It has the classic RZA beats, signature Method Man flow, and no track is skippable or filler material. This was my first Wu solo album purchase and it will always be one of my personal favorites. It IS up there with Cuban Linx, Ironman, Liquid Swords, even 36 Chambers. Method Man will never be as a good as this again.

I've often thought the same, and wonder whether the 'missing element' would have been there had RZAs basement not been flooded and the material lost. RZA has stated in interviews that after that they had to rush the album to get it out in time to keep the Wu name on top after 36 Chambers. the original version probably would have had that extra bit of time spent on it to make it perfect.Quote:

I was reading somewhere that Method Man really didn't like his album himself. Well, if the artist doesn't like HIS own album then I have no choice but to knock down points on this so I gave him a "Banger" cause he did have some good shit on it. Meth, if you didn't like your own shit,then I will give you an 8!
this was actually the first wu album i ever heard. i was a big hiphop fan, but hadnt heard 36 yet.
so, tical was my first introduction to wu, other than the single "method man" from 36. tical made me realize how different wu was and how special hiphop could be, and how much better wu was than everyone else. period!!
the rest is history.
