8 diagrams was a total and complete failure and you all know it.
i can see ppl liking the album cause they generally like the ppl in wutang and support them cause they think they're kick ass guys, but to anyone without a personal love for the men in wutang, this album is ass.
i can't think of an album by a respectable hip hop group that is this bad.
the lyrics were mediocre to luke warm at best. nothing stands out, nothing impressive nothing inventive, just guys saying things that rhyme. Ghost and Meth on Gently Weeps are the only exceptions.
the beats were some of the worst in the entire wu catalog, and totally lacked energy and life. Its a depressing and dead listen.
there's NO group cohesion, theres NO sound cohesion, there's NO verse cohesion, NO chemistry between the members, nothing. just a humble reminder that wutang is dead and uncool.
then, on top of all these criticisms, there's moments of the album that are flat out embarrassing.
-Sunlight: I dont care how socially retarded you are, if a girl walked by when this was on you would turn it down, then change the song casually as if you were planning on doing that. You would also never bump this in a car at high volume and if you do and come to a red light you would turn it down cause you're humiliated by whats happening.
-Tar pit: isn't that the one where george clinton is screaming for like 3 minutes? You wouldn't play this in a room full of blacks I dont give a fuck, you're only lying to yourself if you're telling me otherwise. this shit's embarrassing.
-Unpredictable: WITTY wutang is unpredictable?! LMAO at Rza trying to sound hard saying WITTY WUTANG IS UNPREDICTABLE. This is the same guy that was screaming WUTANG CLAN AINT NOTHING TO FUCK WIT and BRING THE MOTHA FUCKIN RUCKUS. Witty Wutang? Somebody will play some hard body jada, then ask you what you got, and you'll play is butthole of a song? ahahahahaha
-Stick me for my riches: LMAO at Gza embarrassing the fuck out of himself singing right after his verse! LMAO!! God what a fucking loser. did you hear how fucking unsure of himself and old he sounded SINGING that shit!? "I guess more money equals more problems", again, something you'd turn down if women walked by.
-Watch your mouth: Sure this piece of shit didn't make the album, but with a beat that draws one as lifelessly and pointlessly as a 68yr old man's nut sac, but it's also the only song in the history of radio where the DJ had to ARTIFICIALLY SPEED UP THE PLAYBACK.
daamn. The DJ, funk flex, on the debut, speed that shit up himself, cause it was so fucking shitty. damn. for this alone it goes on the embarrassment hall of fame.
-that corny promote with all the 'elements': Rza couldn't be cool if he tried and made the rest of wutang look just as nerdy and embarrassing as himself with that corny kung fu gimmick promo.
-the fact that after 10 years this is all they got" damn.
-8 out of 9 people that MADE THE ALBUM saying it's trash: daaammmn.
anyone hear donna's ass verse on campfire?
awww MAN.
Here's those unmastered version's
http://www.mediafire.com/?g3jjzttvzzt
ahahahah! aww man you got to be kiddin me! WTF does with belligerent chink have to do with wu-tang? If wutang walked into this guys liquor store he'd be reaching for the gun like a bad itch, gtfo.
and now each wu member has ELEMENT POWERS!
u-GOD WITH THE FORCE OF WIND!
ODB WITH THE FORCE OF NATURE!
WTF does this captain planet bullshit have to do with the blacks!?
LMAO! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Ahahaahhahahhahah
aahhahahahahhaha tghe fuckin BEAT is off beat, let alone the shitty drooling mush mouth SPED flow.
idk why Rza gets on this bullshit where he thinks he's wise when he couldn't finish grade school ahahahaha
i know some of you europeans may not understand, but if you went to school and blurped (a butthole burp) all over your peers for many moons you would still graduate the american public school system. Rza didn't
wow, thats interesting.
yall been warrned and radioactive - tracks i usualy skip. but overal iron flag is very good album for my taste, i love chrmoe wheels, and i love all funky/soul type of beats. "babies" the bigiest banger for me on that album i can listen to this shit 24/7 heh. chrome wheels, babies, iron flag, the w, rules and few other joints. iron flag = the w for me.
1. 36 chambers\forever
2. iron flag \ the w
epic fail - 8 diagrams.
and i agree on most things that TSA said about 8 diagrams, but not about clan overall.
8 diagrams is pretty weak, but its still >> iron flag
i can throw diagrams on for background music, cant even do that for iron flag
sunlight and get em out ya way pa will always be in the mix, i don't listen to a single track off iron flag regularly tho
this shit made me ashamed to be a wu fan. straight up.
for 10 years of my fanhood there was no wu album. but i kept repping the shit out of wu to all my friends and foes.
then in their life time wutang has a chance to prove it's self. they're not gonna go dig for a fuckin 15 year old album of a group some kid they know likes
but the one that drops in recent time?!
a lot of ppl checked this album out just to see what the fuck i was hooting and hollering about.
now imagine how much of a jackass i look like for them to listen to george clinton pass kidney stones for 3 minutes straight. DAMN.
tell me you'll be drivin and shit right, and that nigga george clinton starts screaming at the end of Tar Pit like he popped a hemroid and you'll just let that shit bump all the way through at full volume.
you know souljah boy has never put something that unlistenable on an album?
this album technically makes a wutang song worst then ANY souljah boy song in existance.
in not just trying to insult wutang, but a faggy souljah boy track will never be worst then a dying old man screaming and smelling for 3 minutes straight without warrant
TSA got the point..... But you got to the point when you just don't see nothing good about this album, only failures. I respect that but I can still listen to like half of the album but this is just a home alone listen tho... And the funniest thing is that peps was feeling only one song that was actually dropped from the album - You Can't Stop Me Now (this U-God version) hehe.
Nah man, i loved the original wolves, i though the original Thug World was ok, and campfire without donna was heat.
then Rza just lost his god damn mind at the last minute and sabatoged his already lukewarm work.
i think Windmill, Rushing Elephants (though the beat was cheap and amatuer), and 16th chamber were hard in the end product but lord knows how dope they were a week before debut with the rate rza was batting.
16th chamber is to only thing involved with that album that meets standard wu quality. Its the real wutang, its spontaneous, it's fun, it's energtic, and its a bunch of friends having fun with hip hop to a grundgy beat.
to have ODB remind you of how excellent an MC and personality he was on that song, then to listen to the dedication song for him and how shitty it was is disheartening.
that beat alone?! that's from the greatest producer of all time? and ppl are talking about the south.
you can't find a southern beat worst then the beat Rza used as a dedication for his dead cousin.
damn.
8 Diagrams definitely grows on you but it's a little too inconsistent to be a great album. I like the production value of the album but lyrically the album is below what the Wu is capable of.
8 Diagrams achievement:
After it dropped, and until OB4CLII, the only Wu-related album I could force myself to listen to entirely was Supreme Clientele.
EDIT: Yeah I know I was always claiming it was an OK album, I still do, but this is what that album did to me.
It's not about standards, I'd just grow annoyed by those faggots around second or third song.
you're talking about wu-tang right? i think im confused lol.
Ummmm.... Yeah?
aight just making sure, i just find it odd that someone been on a wu website for 5 years with 8.5 thousand posts made vatican and doesn't even really like the group lol
TSA, chill out man. we get it, you didnt like 8D.
anyway, i saw this album being similar to iron flag in that it had some bangers on it and the rest ranging from meh to crap. campfire, rushing elephants, unpredictable(grown on me big time), wolves, take it back are the ill cuts. sunlight and windmill are ok too. iron flag has in the hood, yall been warned, pinky ring, babies, radioactive(will never understand the hate for it), iron flag, and the W bonus cut. rules is ok.
definitely my least favorite clan album.
i think 8D was nice album, although it had many flaws...and i need to say, i think rza is one of the illest mc's ever, but his mic performance on 8D wasn't that good...i think his verse on rushing elephants is one of the wackest verses i've ever heard plus totally off-beat...pure garbage
babies will always be underrated just beacuse of the album on which this song was on.
off-topic though
1. enter the 36 (12/10)
2. wu forever (10/10)
3. the W / 8 digs (9/10)
4. iron flag (8/10)
8 diagrams is a fuckin great album... and it came out in dez... so its smooth and laied back! right shit for the right time!
You dont know people on here why would we turn down music we love. We aint embarresed of our lives and hobbies like you are.
Sunlight is not a type of song to be played in the car. It wasnt made to be played in the car. You dont deserve a car.
Troll.

rza avatar? = check
allah in name? = check
UK? = check
offended over 8 diagrams? = check
8 diagrams had joints on it (with out a doubt), but it was not the album I was hoping for.
Yeah I think you summed it up, had some good joints but way too many flaws to be a great album.
oh sorry i guess havin a rza avatar and loving allah makes me a rza dick rider.
I want offended over 8 diagrams since i really hated tracks such as starter and unpredictable and the album as a whole felt like it had little effort put into it. Take it back is a cLassic though IMO.
I was just simply backing up Sunlight since i thought it was great.
I dont see how im from UK has got anythin to do with this. And yes i am white.
I fucking LOVE the unmastered version of Weak Spot, shits on the toned down one, but can someone do me a big favor? The unmastered version doesnt contain the ODB excerpt at the end like the album version. Can someone cut-n-paste somehow the Album Weak Spot ending with ODB and paste it on the unmastered Weak Spot? Make that genius track COMPLETE PLEASE!
8 Diagrams was definitely a good album, not as fine as Wu-Tang Forever, but still very good.
I still hope they will work very very very hard to prove just one more time, nobody can come near the group when they put that Ginseng-like focus to it.
Peace.
