Yo, I'm with $inister on this one. I don't even know what race most of y'all are nor do I even care bout that or where you from, but straight up and down race is still a BIG issue muhfuckas. AND he wasn't bullshitting about the system being designed to keep you dependent cuz half the time they're tryna kick your ass off prematurely if you get a job cuz sometimes you're financially better off getting welfare (by welfare, I mean section 8, food stamps, monthly checks, medical, etc.) than the minimum wage our education places us at. And "Hard work" my dick. Minimum wage is NOT enough to get by on. Education is what blacks need more than anything so that we're even for ELIGIBLE jobs that will have us living better than pay check to pay check. Stupid fucks; half (if not all y'all) are speaking on a situation that you only know about from your Wu-Tang CDs.

Straight up and down, those wealthy fuck-boys that the government is bailing out depend on the cheap, substandard-living-wage workers that try to do right in the hood. They give us poor education so that we don't know what to reach for or HOW to achieve it. They teach the middle class to fear us as a race or a lower class as an extra measure. If the people are educated, 1. they'll know that there truly is more beyond their immediate environment (which for some hoods is easily IMMENSE enough to be a person's whole WORLD) and 2.they'll know HOW to achieve and slowly this knowledge will push us to take our new place in society. YES: if Barrack doesn't at least PUSH for this to happen (I don't expect him to single-handedly save us. Fuck, he ain't Christ) he will be a failure in my eyes.

And NO, the school systems already in place for us are NOT enough much of the time because they DO NOT prepare people for college.

what about sextion 8 housing in the suburbs? How is that designed to keep you down. So now a black parent can move her kids to the burbs and raise them in a good school system, so they have a better chance....But im guessing you;ll find a problem with that....

...im not really big on section 8 tho...why should they get a free pass tot he burbs??? you gotta work your way there.

Blacks are fastest growing race moving up the class ladder. Blacks don't have it nearly as bad as the Native Americans do.

Don't get me wrong: I know that it's possible and I know what it takes to pull oneself out of a bad situation. I'm here to tell you guys that you're being too harsh on people because it's not as simple as you think. As for blacks (which, I'm not sure why we're the only target of your unfair characterization), you need to understand that we've been subjugated to centuries of brainwashing and esteem battering. It's gon take more than a decade or 2 for the people as a whole to recover from that shyt.

Nah, I'm not Native, but there's ALOT of Native's here in Minnesota, considering Minnesota is a word from the Cherokee tribe (I believe it was the Cherokee). Native Americans are statisticaly at the bottom of the food chain, maybe not because of racism, maybe not because of laziness, but if you go to Arizona, there are alot of Natives who live out in the middle of nowhere in trailers with big familys, making their way through life, living a way many would see as struggle, but they don't go and complain as much as blacks. I'm sort of contridicting myself when I say that, I will admit.

Well, agree'd.

But for the time being, there's to many things going on in the US to just focus only on the poverty side of things. At this moment, if we want change in the communitys, we're going to have to do it ourselfs, we can't always rely on our goverment right now, they are very unreliable for everything. You know what I mean? I think alot of the reason why people are fucking themselves over and going into poverty is what the media markets as 'cool'. Know what I mean?

public school my kid is ten
$120 the teachers school suplies i was pissed about that one if you seen the list it was type crazy deserves its own thread
$260 uniforms $1.50 lunch everyday
$80 bucks a month for music
afther school program $200 buck a month
and a bunch of other shit $10 here $20 there
and we send the kid to a different zone for a better education

I get several emails about government grants often so one day i decided to check out this website that i got a email from about grants. I paid for this grant information which is $19.95 a month and they only accept a credit card payment. The website has lots of organizations that give grants for personal needs, school, starting your own business. I applied for personal needs grants and i'm waiting to get a response from them which is gonna take 30-60 days. I hope i get approved for this money because i really need it for getting my own place, furniture, car repairs and maybe buying another car because my car is 16 years old. I asked for $4,000 and $5,000. At first i thought this shit was phony because i've never heard of the government giving away money every year to people but it seems like it really happens. I talked to a customer service lady about this grant information and she told me that people really do get grants. I wouldn't be asking for this money if i had a job paying good money but unfortunately the money i make from my 2 jobs isn't enough to take care of myself.
