He did that to impress the bigwigs even more.

Cher is also old school like Aretha and weighs less.
Thanks to everybody for their input, positive and negative alike. Again I say that I understand the frustration/anger of many. But it's gotten to the point where it's really not even worth responding to anymore cause no matter how many times you explain it, the level of discussion spirals down by the minute. So lets just sit and wait to see how all this plays out, cause there's no use arguing about it anymore, shit wont change anytime soon. Peace.
put the album in movie theatres for 10 bucks a showing and ill be happy
let's break this down...
right or wrong, arguing that cilvaringz isn't the artist because he pieced it together is like saying a hip-hop producer isn't an artist because he samples. and that is a lot of people's stance, so maybe it's yours too.
If you sell, barter or give your verse away, that person owns it and can do what they want with it unless there was some other agreement. Meth, Deck and Redman recorded a song with the Dog Pound. Daz gave it to Tupac when he got out of jail and Tupac got on it, cut Deck's verse and that's history. Meth couldn't ask for his verse back and he didn't cry about it.
LOL I'm pretty sure she's just pissed off because sin isn't gonna cake off it.
yo what about all that snippet shit he leaked ?
are we gonna act like that never happened? like those ameteur ass webcam videos posted on youtube... lol yeah we should reup them.......... see how that plays out.....
Why did you Delete my "RZA" Story Cilvaringz?? Did fake "RZA" and Diggs Family tell you to pull the plug?? Were you Threatened?? You're in the story, but i left out the whole "Once Upon a Time and Shaolin" Scandal with Fake "RZA" the "Super Producer" guiding the Morracan Pupil he met during a Wu-Tang overseas tour of Forever. Part 2 coming soon. These are True Crime Stories.
Im sure most wutang heads would listen to it multiple times if they got the chance, and im sure some of them would try to record some songs, or write down the lyrics. They said no phones but cmon, are they gonna have tsa patdowns just to listen to this shit? Most ppl I know are not going to give up their cell phone so they could go into a secluded room. Only other option would be for some security guard narc to be staring at you the entire time while you listen, which im sure would be highly uncomfortable & piss alota ppl off.
More flaws like I said. Just like how museums are social places. What is social about putting on headphones and listening to music by yourself? The only museum Ever where you cant even bring a date or friends cuz only 1 person at a time could listen to a 2hr album. Thats why museums were created in the first place, an inclusive place where art can be shared socially, not where only one person at a time could look at each painting. But the beauty of music is its convenience, how many of us listen to music in our cars? or at the gym while working out? Or when your at a park with friends?.........A kid buying your cd then listening to it in his own home, around his family & friends is way more valuable, its actually priceless. Thats what made pac & the clan so dangerous. They were getting into the homes of middle america & actually changing the way ppl talked, acted, ect. How many times when someone has been depressed they could put on their fav song & be happy again. Music is powerful when it is accessible to every human in the world at the same time. Movies are just the same, hence all the big openings that take place every week
Another one of the biggest flaws is the fact that it wont be released on vinyl. Thats just shitting on every dj. Theres several elements that work together to form hip hop & DJing is a huge part. Spinning vinyl is what created the emceeing artform, so to exclude records....smh...I mean wutang not on record is like peanut butter with no jelly. The Wutang records ARE the collectors item. I cant believe they cannot see the obvious.....
The same feeling cilv has now is no different then what dj premier felt when guru spit, or what dre felt when snoop spit, or large pro when nas rocked, a dope hip hop record is nothing new, but the only difference is premo knew he had more successes around the corner, dre knew he would keep going, cilva is only holding on to this & holding it over our heads cuz he knows this is it for him. He hasnt done anything that our pioneers havent done before yet hes too good to following the format they clearly laid out for this hip hop shit. Hes overseas acting like an elitist yet he find the time to lurk on these forums daily. Lol Sorry he is not the savior, I have no faith in him or any future projects he may have going.
Its not like hes going to Staten Island, Shaolin & building something there. Or going to BK or the BRONX where hip hop started to create a movement......We ALL started as fans. But now we can all see how hip hop & their artist has been exploited by offshore interest. Could you imagine the clan being influenced by this madness? I dunno about you but I dont wanna see method man & charles branson hanging out together. Wu tang is supposed to be grimey for the streets, for the niggas in jail, for the single mothers & for the seeds.
why wouldn't a person give up their cell phone to go into a room? how obsessed are they with a stupid phone?

BatH salts
all right, so when is the album coming to museums? this process is moving at turtle speed. just imagine if this was a standard release it'd be out in stores right now. but that's whatever. I just want to hear the album now
That story was probably the funniest thing I've ever read on here
Why are we all attacking Cilvaringz when its going to be the RZA who will piss us all off with his surefire pisspoor ABT album later this year? At least our man Cilva is producing music that the fans want. Yes ok so we wont be able to here it, but unless Cilva has plans to retire after this (please say a big NO Cilva) then I'm sure he will soon bless us with some beats (or full albums) for the Wu in a year or so, while the RZA is trying to convince himself that the world needs another piano track dedicated to the next fallen celeb. Give Cilva some slack guys, the WU name is now being spoken about more today in 2014 than its been for at least 10 years if not more. So full respect to Cilva and I hope he carries on making beats and tracks that he CAN allow us to hear in the near future.
I'm not attacking Cilvaringz, I'm speaking the truth because he seems to be under RZA's spell, or just feeling himself because of the press. I'd rather a shitty album get put out than a (potentially) great one belonging to a single rich person. Do you realize how ridiculous it is for a street group like Wu to put out a single album and not let anyone who has supported them for decades purchase it? Not even digitally? You can purchase prints of the Mona Lisa, and can purchase albums of Mozart's music, but the only chance you have of hearing the Wu album is one night in a museum if you're lucky and it comes to a town near you? This is probably the most ungrateful move any artist has pulled in the history of music. Whereas bands like Fugazi lived and died by their fans, refusing to ever play a show for more than $5, Wu is turning their back on their fans to "support art." Who the fuck are they hoping to help? Some up-and-coming artist would never be able to pull a stunt like this off. It's posturing, plain and simple. It sounds like a good idea until you think about it for a few minutes, and then you realize it's just bullshit. They could have had the one physical, and the sold the digital version for non-rich people, but that wouldn't have netted $5M, would it?
How is only allowing one person to own and enjoy your album any better than having many people enjoy it for a long time? Even if most only listen for a week, there will be hundreds if not thousands who will listen to it for years (if it's any good). The only way it's better is if you make $5M and finally get some press because of it.
If Cilvaringz is being genuine, then surely he wouldn't mind explaining the dissonance I see here. It really hasn't been answered, it has just been side-stepped. The only logical reasons I can see them pulling this stunt is:
1. Money
2. To further cement the group's legacy in music history
3. Press
4. To try and re-energize the group
None of those seem worth pissing off your most loyal fans.
Cilvaringz said that when the announcement was made, a lot of us would be pissed off, but then he also said to have patience because he would never turn his back on fans. Seems like a lot of bullshit right now.
Cilvaringz also spoke about an idea to let 4th Disciple fully produce the album if I remember correctly? So how about we allow Cilva to keep this ONE copy of the album, beautifully crafted as a piece of Art and enjoyed by only a few and then ultimately by ONE single buyer of the album.............and then give the lyrics to 4th Disciple and allow him to produce an album using the lyrics in whatever order he wishes to whatever beats he wanted. So the fans get a 100% produced 4th Disciple Wu album, something I'm sure the die-hard fans like me have always wished for, and Cilva gets his $5million for the album that may never be heard. Would that appease the fans if Cilva allowed that to happen?
Ringz: what precautions are being taken to prevent the album (audio files) from being stolen/copied during the museum tour? Is there any clause written into the sale which prevents any liability on your end if, after the auction, the files get stolen and leaked online, possibly devaluing the physical copy? What type of audio will be used for the tour...wav, flac, or will the actual physical be played?
actually, Cilvaringz, what do you plan on doing after you sell this album? make another one? You could really build a legacy as a great producer if you produce other people's work like Killah Priest or shabazz or Wu generals
yeah, I don't know what his priorities are, but he spent six years making Shaolin. I don't know if he's burned out or what, but I'd keep the momentum going. and what's with giving away banging beats like Allah uh Akbar to a select few people who paid 50-100 bucks when you could've given that beat to a dope MC (priest, shabazz--and if he wasn't going to jail, Killa Sin)? I haven't heard the Mental Chamberz you gave away with the Wuki package, but that seems like a waste to me. those beats could've been properly used
.
i didn't have the patience to read this whole thread but i just want to weigh in with the minority opinion that i respect this. this was clearly the definition of a power move for a group of artists that have been making mostly wack moves for the last 15+ years. can't imagine any artist, let alone a way past their prime/no one really checking for them rap group getting this kind of hype. having long segments on pretty much every news channel etc.
also from the early beat preview (with the ill KP verse) to the cut with ghost on the forbes interview the shit sounds exactly like what i want to hear from a wu album. i don't understand the people who think this album is gonna be mediocre, i'm hype for it, and while i'm not excited to wait longer to hear it (fuck the museum thing i'll just wait for it to be released , which it will one way or another) i can't imagine anything that could have given the legacy of the wu a bigger boost at a time when the group themselves are mostly watering it down.
good look cilva, i appreciate the work you did, peace
Yeah I don't get why he didn't save or use some of those dope beats from the Mental Chamberz albums in the package for later albums, but ah well. Maybe he has some other dope shit already to be released right after this Shaolin album. And he's confident enough that we'll all like that. Since he has the secret key to all these unreleased songs like in the Wuki pack, I wish he could also release all of the lost Holocaust recordings from late 90's. I'd be happy with that.
Are people still crying about this? smh get fuckin over it, i wasnt over the moon when i heard either but its something different, we will get to hear at some stage in the future and its not like Cilva is never gonna release shit again. Its out of our hands so why get pissy? Yeah i know tecnically he lied with the other thread but fuck it.
And another thing, with all the success and publicity this is getting the Wu members, Cilva and other affiliates might look at this as another oppurtunity to release more albums based on the hype of this, seeing as how the Wu are in the news again for the first time in YEARS.
People on here were commending Raekwon for that faggy song he done with that faggit Bieber coz Bieber was popular and it would get him some shine and paper. No it didnt, it failed, he got no new expsure off it, it came out as a patethic attempt to stay relevant by a 40 year old rapper trying to get fame from a 16 year old faggit whos fan base are 12 years old. This IS actually getting them notice but people here are still bitching. Get over it.
Finally, I can post.. Peace to Cilva or whoever approved of my sign up.
I am a former The DSC member, my name there was "maximizer" if anyone remembers.. cool. If not, fuck it :)
I am 30 years old now, and started listening to Wu when I was in the 5th or 6th grade in 1993.
I grew up listening to Liquid Swords and OB4CL primarily and bought every CD from 1993 until about 2001, including spinoffs like Wu-Syndicate.
For me, my opinion? I want this album. Desperately, Cilvaringz "1" record came out when I wasn't really keeping an eye on Wu-Shit, and I recently bought the CD on Amazon. The Album is fucking amazing and your production is on point with the Wu sound the fans love and look for! "1" was a little busy on the sound effects and shit but that's fine. I love the album and have been keeping it on rotation for 3 weeks now.
Tarik/Cilva - all I have to say to you.. is, congratulations. You are living the dream that I always wanted growing up - Posting on The DSC, trading MP3's of Wu-Gems with my homies across the world on mIRC (Maybe even yourself). I even ran a Wu-Tang breakbeat site that I created when i was 12 years old http://wu-tang.9876.net - check on waybackmachine.org - I taught myself Cool Edit '96 to chop up tracks to loop the beats I loved, so I could use them as full instrumentals to fuck around with. Daytona 500 was the first breakbeat I made. ha - Maybe I could've gotten in touch with the Wu as you did if I stuck to it. But my life, growing up in Canada and family related issues took me away from that dream. So it is now, that I choose to live vicariously through you.
I'm proud of you bro, and respect what you're doing. I just hope that one day I can fucking listen to it.
PEACE!
Peace Jordon,
Definitely appreciate that!
