HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!!!!
I wanted the Germans to win but damn! 7-1 just absolutely shocking.
Brazil got raped, absolutely raped. Could have been 8-0 if Ozil scored that chance right before the Brazil goal.
Disgusting, I said Brazil were overrated but i mean Germany don't beat Luxembourg by 7 goals.
How devastating is a game if you actually feel sorry for the losing team?
Chances are Brazil will burn tonight. I hope it won't...
You could tell the Germans were asked not to take any risks leading to injuries in the second half - and they still scored twice more!
This is what sums up Germany: Neuer getting extremely angry after Brazil manages to score in the 90th minute.
Historic game.
lol
Scolari is a faggot, I'm glad Brazil got touched up. They got a free ride all tournament. Kicked the shit out Colombia (literally, with dirty tactics) to no punishment. Scolari was talking shit only a few days ago saying they have one hand on the trophy lol
Brazil haven't played "joga bonito" since the 1970's but they've been pretty boring this millennium, especially the last 8 years. They play a shit brand of football. They should have picked more domestic players like Ronaldinho.
Imagine if Germany had Reus on the left instead of Özil.
I think the European influence has crept into Brazilian football. In the sense brazil used to play a carefree brand of football and relied on there unique skill to beat opponents. Now I feel they play a more tactical game and there players are less skilful.
The last time Brazil played like Brazil was at USA 94.
The last great Brazil team was the one with Zico and Socrates in the 80's. But they didn't win.
The Brazil team of 94 were more European, they had proper bruisers in midfield like Dunga. The 2002 team were lucky as in that tournament they had no opponents, they played a piss poor Germany side in the final, who were missing their best player.
Brazil cannot play 'joga bonito' anymore because the tough Euro defensive teams would just stomp on them. European teams now produce players with as much technical ability as Brazil, on top they have superior tactical knowledge.
No team in the world would start with their 2 full backs in full attack mode against Germany. Marcelo and Maicon in the first 10 minutes were high up the pitch giving acres of space to Muller and Ozil. You just don't do that to Germany, your playing into their hands. They want teams to come at them, cause it makes life so much easier for them. Brazil were not realistic with their game plan at all.
Also that bullshit with the Neymar shirt and the national anthems. If nobody knew they would have thought a nation was mourning cause Neymar had died. Brazil lost from that point on. They should have held Tiago Silva's shirt instead of Neymar's because without him the Brazilian defence was just lost.
Germany didn't hold Marco Reus' jersey or even Holger Badstuber who had been injured for almost 18 months. It showed how mentally weak the players are by doing that shit and Scolari talked about it non stop until match day. They were wearing Neymar hats too smh
You could attack Germany with attacking fullbacks but not with two central defenders! Fucking madness to essentially leave Germany a 5 on 4 press in midfield because Khedira advances with wide players in open space.
It sucks when you lose in a big game like Brazil did, but when you lose in front of your home country by six goals, and have four years to think about it is something else.
Brazilian newspaper O Globo was generous in their analysis of the game... They gave each Brazilian player a score of zero.
Check the pic here:

Also check their devastating one-word description of each player.
Yeah, it's going to take Brazil ages to recover from this.
Four years to think about losing 7-1? Losing to Uruguay in 1950 still kills them. Brazil will never get over this and never will 2002 make them feel better. If Argentina win the World Cup it's over for Brazil lol
who do u guys thinks is better between serginho chulapa and fred?
Does Germany have more world cup finals appearances than any other team?
I'm 3/4 Dutch blood and 1/4 German, and thus support Holland, but that semi final was such limp dick faggot shit that I would have supported Germany in the final even if Holland had made it. Shit like that is the reason why people like me can't really respect soccer. Semi final of like the biggest sporting event in the world and these faggots don't even show up to play. I can't even call these faggots athletes.
Fuck soccer.
I hope Germany absolutely fucking crush those limp dick Argentina faggots in the final.
Rame u there?? hahahah SPAIN 1 WORLDCUP NETHERLANDS 0
BUAHAHAHHAHAHAH FAGGOT
I agree noel I don't like football that much either. the worst thing about football is that quite often the best team on the day doesn't even win so wtf is the point.
I don't even think they were limp dick faggots though, its just the more modern game is naturally boring, the premiership sucks ass now. I only watch the world cup cuz exciting matches often happen in it despite certain boring ones unlike most other footballing tournaments.
I don't want argentina to win cuz of when they posed in front of that give us back the falklands poster. making sport political is so pussy.
PS van persie gets a pass today cuz he was sick so he couldn't play well
Holland Argentina was sooooooo boring. Props to Argentina though, they stepped up in the penalty shoot out.
Germany are in their 8th final.
David Zdrillic is better than Fred
You and Mathlete's Foot make a good point here, because let's face it ... some of the games in the world cup were appalingly boring (my home country is to blame too), others demonstrated painful tactics or lacking technical skills. As I said before, teams like Chile and Colombia deserved to make it to the (semi)finals more but soccer is not straightforward like that. Argentina and Brazil have not played well this tournament, Holland has played rather efficiently but most of the time not very attractively (I make an exception for the Spain game) and Germany is and always will be Germany. But at least their first and latest game so far in this World cup have been entertaining.
This is not a grand cru World Cup, but I enjoy all world cups anyway.
People go on about German efficiency but to be honest. In the last two world cups the German's have got by, playing some really exciting football (Nothing efficient about it IMO). The German's seem to have broken out of the boring defence orientated mentality where they would grind out a result like robots.
I'm predicting 2-2 (Messi with a double) Argentina win on penalties
i had argentina beating brazil in the final and germany beating the netherlands in the third place match since the world cup started
it only makes sense i have brazil beating the netherlands in the third place match since i had them taking second place in the beginning
i have argentina beating germany in the final and my world cup champions prediction will probably be right
Holland and Argentina were incredibly passive, I mean there was a moment in the 70th minute Robben had the ball on the left he cut inside Sneijder was in the middle. The left flank was wide open but no Dutch player was there, Robben looked back to Kuyt and Kuyt was just standing by the half way line. He didn't even make an attempt to do an overlapping run. Pretty much summed up the game. Both teams went out not to lose and settled for penalties after 10 minutes.
I think the Dutch will beat Brazil in the 3rd place playoff.
I picked Germany to win and I'm pretty much sticking with it, the confidence must be out of this world. Overall in the tournament they have been better than Argentina, a far more balanced team than Argentina as well.
Germany changed everything over a decade ago and literally rebuilt their game from the ground up at grass roots level, fixed the domestic league and when the first of the new generation came through they luckily had a visionary at the National team in Klinsmann. Now they reap the reward of a seriously quality talent pool. Marco Reus is injured and it was nothing more than a 'that's a shame' mentality. They bring in Mesut Özil (admittedly not in the form he should be) or Mario Götze with Andre Schürrle as the replacement and Julian Draxlar the future lol compare that to England and they don't have a single player as good as any of those players mentioned.
One thing about the German team is the core of that team all play for Bayern, all the important players except for Hummels, and those players in the last 12 months have found a way to win the big games. They had lost the 2010 Champions League final, went and go stage fright against Spain in the 2010 WC semi final - something Löw won't repeat IMO - all the while giving up domestic honours to Borussia Dortmund, second place in everything in 2012 and then totally capitulating against Italy in Euro 2012. But now they got through it last year and that gives them a huge edge against Argentina I think. Sure they got spank by Real Madrid this year but that was seriously down to the ineffectiveness of Pep Guardiola's stupid tactics than anything else.
Netherlands and Argentina played each other the same way Germany tried to play Spain in 2010 semi final only the Germans were unlucky to give up the goal. If you're playing not to lose against a Dutch team that is good but hardly a dominant force in the world what approach are you going to take against Germany? Argentina gave up a slight psychological edge but hey it's just 90 minutes of football I guess anything can happen.
This means absolutely nothing coming from a guy who's team didn't make it out of the group stages and took a massive beating in the process.
How's that ban coming along?
Gotta disagree. Dutch fought the entire game, just didn't have the strength anymore to break through their defense. No one except for Cillessen reached their former level but atleast they tried, which can't be said of Argentina.
---- Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has revealed two of his players refused to step up to take the first penalty in Wednesday's 4-2 World Cup semi-final shoot-out loss to Argentina.

^^That's an interesting bit of info. Thanks, check two. I guess those players felt crushed by the responsibility. Not very professional imo. Good that Van Gael didn't mention the names of the two players. Not even sure he should have stated two players refused to take that penalty shot, but as stated it's interesting for us soccer fans to know!
After having watched both semi-finals I'm going with Germany as WC winner. I don't really care about the third place play off. imo it's a game that should have never existed in the first place. Has ANY team ever been enthusiastic about playing the third place play off? FIFA should get rid of it.
I can't really blame players for not wanting to take penalties. Watching penalties is bad enough this is the semi-finals of a world cup players must be feeling incredibly shitty at that time.
3rd place playoff is just a consolation prize, i mean you get 3rd you get a medal. There must be some cash incentive somewhere as well. Usually in world cups you get one nation who makes it to the semis who shouldn't have been there, so they really go for that 3rd place, i mean Turkey got 3rd we still talk about it for fuck sake. Last time was Uruguay. This year you got 4 teams that only wanted to win it, so this 3rd place playoff doesn't have much meaning for them. However I think Brazil will use it to restore some of their shattered pride.
^^Hadn't thought about it that way. 3rd place play off makes more sense now.
Argentina's Mascherano tore his anus against Netherlands
http://www.ottawasun.com/2014/07/10/...st-netherlands
^^Too much info, Mascherano.
BTW the interwebz are buzzing over the fact whether Vlaar's penalty shot passed the goal line or not. I don't really see why as (unfortunately) to me it seems the goalie stopped the shot before the goal line.
There's some uncertainty amongst some because the ball flies up in the air afterwards, making some claim it past the goal line then. I really don't see it, but you be the Judge.
http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/FIFAWK/FI..._penalty_vlaar
Never mind the first vid there because it's crap, but check the vids below the first one.
FIFA has even responded to the rumors and officially confirmed Vlaar's shot didn't pass the goal line.
