the game was basically over the second the ref blew the whistle for time to keep ticking after resetting the chains after the 1st down. it wouldve been hard to do anything in that spot because you're rushing to the line and you have to hike the ball immediatly. i was surprised they even got the snap off.Quote:

its not just that, but running two pass plays when you were already in fieldgoal range and its not like they were running a play for a short pass to the sideline or a slant, they were trying to go downfield into the end zone. they get sacked on their last attempt and are forced to burn their remaining timeout. you run and try to get your kicker a bit closer than you kick. horrible playcalling in that series.Quote:

Notre Dame's problem wasn't Weis truthfully.
His offense this year was superb, one of the best in the country..and thats his thing.
Notre Dames problem is that they haven't had anything resembling a defense in a decade, maybe even 15 years.
They get torched every week.
They need to recruit for defense harder.
